I fix small engines for a living and today a customer gave me a saw.
It is a FR 4618 McCulloch.
Bascially, as far as I can tell, it is a Factory Freshened Mac4600.
He says he got it a few years back and only used it once, tried it again and it wouldnt run.
So I put some gas in it, and after some priming, it started, ran fast woulsnt idle so I killed it.
Tore it down to the block, and found the rubber boot on the intake was ripped.
The piston is polished like new, no scratches. The bore is silky smooth.
It came apart easily..but Ive found a few problems..
1. The oiler hose underneath is gone, rotted off, how do I replace it?
2. There is a hose fitting on the lower half of the block, in the back of the engine, facing up. It had what was left of some hose, and a clamp, No clue where it goes or what it does.
Otherwise, it is a nice saw, quite well built.
My 0ther Mc's include a MAc 110, Timber Bear, and a Pro Mac 610.
Any help on where to find parts or an assembly diagram would be appreciated..
Thanks, Tommy-
