Way to store saws in Pick-up Bed ?

Do you mean secure against theft or just to stop 'em rolling around?

I have a roll n'lock cover, but I don't think that was the kind of answer you were looking for.

Around here I'd be worried about people lifting them if I stopped at a light, so used to chain them all together and through a lashing eye before I got the cover. Works, but not if unattended for a long time

Both but mostly from rollin' around.

Theft is out of sight and behind some kind of lock.

i have a plastic-coated security cable and a long shackle combination padlock which i run through the tie-down loops in the bed.

I only haul mine in cases (except for the ms660.. I don't know what I'm gonna do for that yet)

I use a cargo bar. I line the saws up against the front of the truck bed, then hold them in place with the cargo bar.. it works pretty good.

Just a simple 2x4 frame with slots cut in the fromt for the bars,works for me.

I was just going to say you had a cool setup, I'm going to make on of those just for GTG's.

For the last GTG. Andyshine's and my saws were placed in the back of the truck, on foam, with the bars under the tool box. We then put a tiedown-strap through the handles, with both ends hooked inside my locked tool box. The pics are on my home 'puter. It kept them in place and I know it's not much security, but it would at least slow someone down for a few seconds. Nobody could just reach in at a stop light and just pick one up

i saw a logger who had all 372s, he found a log that was just the right size. it sat behind the wheel wells in his chevy, he had bore cut several slots in it. when the tailgate was closed the saws couldnt move, open the tailgate and pull one out. not locked but alteast kept them from bouncing all over creation.

You just put enough saws in the bed so they can't move around!!!Hope this was helpful!!

P.S. They don't all have to be good saws, you throw in 10-15 parts saws and delicately place your runners in between so they don't rub together. The upside is if your runners are used enough thieves can't tell em from the good ones!! (I'll be still now!!)

I'll post a pic later, storming pretty good outside currently. I have a 3/4 ton Chevy truck, and use a 2 X 6 with 5 slots cut in it. There's a place between the bed sides for the 2 X 6 to wedge into. I have a chain welded between the two rear inside hooks and run it through the saw handles to lock them up. They sit on a rubber bed mat and can't move around when going to and from the woods....Cliff

Some interesting ways to carry the saws...MY problem is i fill up the back of the truck with wood and have no place but to stick the three of them in the cab with my helper and me.NOT comfortable.
was trying to think of some way to mount them on the roof or plow frame..
i aint worried about anybody trying to grab them,my 357 takes care of that and it AINT an XP !

i had the same thoughts, so i designed this:

i will eventually run a chain and lock through them for security, but for now i only cut on our private lands anyway, and when i stop to get a drink i can always see the truck.

i like the set-up. it keeps the saws secure, i can carry up to 4 of them, and all i have to load is my tool bag and gas can.

I'd have to get a 6x6 truck to get all 18 of mine in the bed with wood and tools and Little Possum.
