NICE SILogger!

If I did this every day, that would DEFINITELY be my setup!

But... I'm just an amateur.. ;( I have to work INSIDE every day..

Although, I have to ask.. What's with the spare top handle?!?! Do you really bust them up that quick?!

no. it was in transport, i had just gotten one from a guy and i threw it in the box and it hadn't made its way out of there yet. that pic was about 2 years ago, and 2 trucks ago! ive got 4 saws in there now 361, 460, tree sling'r 460, tree sling'r 660 in there with chains and bars, fuel and oil is in the bed now.

yep

that's what I use a box like that except a different brand bigger saws can be a little tricky getting in and out but, for safe transport and storage it's hard to beat.

You know those fake stake pockets that manufacturers put on trucks nowadays, the ones that’re maybe 3″ deep and pretty much useless for anything but those pop-up hooks? Well, Master Lock has come up with a pretty cool use for one: turning it into a U-lock for locking up your tools.

The Truck Bed U-Lock fits into the stake pockets of most late-model full-size pickups from Chevy, Dodge, Ford, and Toyota, and once it’s locked, it can’t be removed from the truck. The hardened steel shackle and lock body resist cutting, at least enough to make a thief think twice about trying to saw through it. And a rubber keyway cover protects the lock from all the nasty, wet, and dusty stuff your truck encounters day to day.

Although the Truck Bed U-Lock lists for $42, you can find it for as low as $34. One last cool feature: You can re-key it to match your other Master Lock products, so your truck key ring doesn’t make you look like a janitor.

Everything organized and clean.

Going by the depth you could see you had another "level" to play with and provision for fork tynes.

We have those out here used as site boxes at the coupes.

Something along those lines but opens at either end is what I'm thinking would be handy without having to hop in the back and provide access when tray is full.

Hey.... isnt poulan oil in a stihl against some rule somewhere?

Some nice looking job boxes and secure also.
For somebody that needs every bit of space in the back to carry the wood just not practical..
need to mount them neer the roof ..or ON the roof ??

A lot of the serious firewood cutters around here use a regular contractor's rack with the extension out over the cab. Fasten a 3/4 " piece of plywood to the extension and start customizing to suit your needs.
The saws are up high enough to keep the average thief from grabbing them quickly and your whole bed area is available for wood.

:dizzy: sometimes the best solution is the most simple and staring me in the face in the back yard..
now i will have to find something else to store my lumber on !!

LOL...A simple solution from a simple mind. You're welcome.

A lumber rack is also easy to put side boards on, too. Drill, bolt, wingnuts etc.

Close up of headache rack chainsaw rack:greenchainsaw:
I have cable locks that can be run through the handles and secured when I have to leave them to go into the store or left at any time.

My saws would leak bar oil all over the seat if I did that. My wife would not be happy the next time she rode in the truck.
