I would have to agree. Give him a break on the price and you'll probably have a customer for life.
I had a similar situation last year. Working by a creek, the HO to me i could back down closer to the tree (there had been dump trucks another other equipment down there before) Backing down in the rear wheels sank up the the axles. Tried to use the rear outriggers to raise the wheels to get ply wood underneath them, but there was no bottom. We pushed probably 4 feet of fire wood into the muck before we just called a tow-truck. HO said don't worry about it cuz he told me to to make my life easier.
