Bathroom sink organizer out of solid block of heavy Texas/rock elm. Forstner bits for the deep holes, spiral upcut bit in a router with an edge guide to do the slots. (Practicing with the latter to do floating tenon joints.) I start with a 1/2" hole usually with the Forstners in my drill press, then step up 1/8" to 1/4" increments to make the drilling manageable. I've tried going right to 1.5-2" Forstners before in South Texas hardwood and it just makes a lot of smoke. Even in old growth pine I've found it's impossibly slow going to drill large holes without stepping up in increments.
