Novel idea there

Problem for me is the ammo cans are all filled with ammo!
By all means carry on! Priorities must be kept straight. As my SHTF cans are full also.

I have a local hardware store that has the plastic homeowner versions.... in double size even.... for $4-$9 each. I grabbed a few for To-Go boxes.

In all seriousness, old steel ammo can full of small spare parts for every saw I personally keep. Can save yer bacon when your out cutting when something falls apart or breaks.

Not to many parts to carry into the wilderness for most repairs. Most important is a second saw. It use to be extra bar nuts, but now all my Stihls have captured nuts.

um... that handle bar is grody
saw wrench, spare chain, spare bar, spare spark plug, maybe a spare pull rope, anything else breaks its time to go home.
As for "saw accessories" garbage one bolts/tapes/glues onto said saw, 3/4-full wrap bars, larger felling dogs, lightened bars, missing parts of the exhaust... anything else is just extra pointless weight.

I stay away from plastic if at all possible.

I have a 24" plastic stanley tool box that I bought several years ago. I keep extra chains, files, stump vise, scrench, chip brush, and a small box with spare bar nuts, e-clips/washers, a pull rope and spur, a sparkplug, and a couple of spare nuts and bolts. To be honest, that tool box holds all my spare parts regardless of whether I'm in the woods, or in my shop.
