I apologize for such frequent post, but I need to catch up on things. I just started to handle saws again after about a 15 year intermission. I'm kind of relearning.

What size saws are selling?

I am seeing interest in three areas:

* Good quality 35 or 40 cc mini saws in the $200 to $225 range.

* Good quality 45 to 55 cc 18" and 20" firewood saws that can be had for $275 to $375.

* Eighty cc and up log saws.

I'm just a small town, small timer, I bought 15 saws and seem to have made some questionable choices. Isn't learning fun?

I have Jonsered / Olympyc.

Any advice or comparisons to your experiences.

I am in East central Illinois, good Oak, Hickory, Maple, and some Walnut logging, and recently a resurgence in firewood cutting. The loggers and right of way clearers are leaving a lot of tops for the firewood cutters.

First of all sell all those saws new or old well not the new ones persay. But get rid of all that you can because you only need one saw if your going to cut firewood. Stihl 088 or Husky 3120, both will cut firewood perfectly, YAH if your Arnold Swwehrehoad (whatever, he cant even spell it). Anyways i would get rid of some saws forsure though. An look at a Walkerized 346 XP or 026 Stihl. The husky is a better buy forsure (judas priest i think i have caught the husky bug) The 346 will do everything you need. But before you go to your local dealer call JW and see what he can do for you because as good as a 346 is from what i have read a 346 W is like having a guy the size of Jesse the Gov. Ventura with the attitude of Dany Devito. Just a thought.

Tony, as a fellow Jonsered dealer I have had good luck with the following units...2036, 2141, 2149, 2165, 2171 and the 2095, these are common units on my shelves....and I have had very few to no problems with them...I realize I am in softwood country, not hard wood.....just my 2 cents..

confused now im confused.u like the 88 or u dont like the 88.
the pt about the other saws i understood. think the poster said he thought the 88 was a loggers saw.later now

I've always wanted to sell chain saws. I would greatly appeciate any information on how I go about getting a dealership. I'd say smaller saws sell the most around here for firewood saws. Theres quite a few loggers too but its not as big as used to be. What brand should I get? There is already Stihl and Husky dealers around, though not very helpful or friendly. Thats one thing I could beat them at. To any dealers here dont worry I'm not moving in on your area. I'm not even close to most of the people here.

Saw Dealerships

Hi Pioneer, Husky and Stihl will not let the dealer density(ha, an oxymoron) get too high in one area. If you have either of these brands within ten miles of you, unless you are in a larger city, forget about them. You also have the hassle of carrying the rest of their line, because they said so. Used to be an initial investment of 10K for Husky and a similar number for Stihl, but I expect that has changed due to the fact that there is so much other stuff in the line now, that you will be required to carry. Contact Stihl or Husky direct, and they will have someone get ahold of you unless you have been somehow pre-disqualified. They also want you to have an honest to God storefront with regular hours and trained repair staff. You don`t see anymore of those guys selling out of their garages getting set up anymore. Jonsered is a little friendlier to the small guy. Contact Tilton Equipment on the East Coast, and they will have the appropriate individual come to your place of business. There was a guy named Eric Bieber working for Tilton out of Harrisburg, very nice guy, and he will try to set you up. Initial investment was about 5K, and if you deal with Eric he will know what is selling in your area and not try to stick you with a bunch of albatross. Just make sure that Jonsered is a well accepted name in your area. It`s tough to come in as the new guy with no reputation for service or repair, and make a good go of it. Good Luck, Russ

Since It is clear that I have the husqvarna infection. One is there a cure? If it is indeed a virus can I supress it with medication?

I NEED HELP!!!

Confused, It spreads like a virus, but it is actually a form of "higher enlightenment" similar to being born again. The only known way to deal with it is to spend as much of your life as possible, devoting your efforts to obtaining as many Huskies as are available, until you have reached "Husqvarna Divinity" The first step in getting there, is realizing that you want to be there.
