I have a Vermeer SC252 currently equipped with Greenteeth 700 series. I think they cut very fast when sharp, peels off 6 to 8 inch long curlies. The time has come to buy either Greenteeth's new tap and turn quick release low profile pockets, or the Multi-Tip setup for $500. Or Sandvik?

I am leaning toward Multi-Tip because of 4 cutting tips per tooth, and about 60 seconds to change a complete 4 tip tooth. Plus lower chip/dirt drag without the pockets.

Would a Multi-Tip set up cut a stump out as fast as Greenteeth?

I also cut in rocky soil, about 25% of the time.

Would the Sandvik work well with a low horsepower machine (26hp) such at my SC252? Also, my work is residential, by porches, rocks, stuff like that, also sometimes rocky soil.

Had the Sandvik on my 252 for over 2 years now. Can't speak about the Multitip or Greenteeth. Love the Sandvik, tough teeth, easy to change, less chip throw, handle rocky soil pretty well. In two years I think I've only broken the carbide on a handful of teeth, they usually just dull over time and then you can re-sharpen 3 or 4 times. I did get a couple sets of "bad carbide" teeth, New River comp'd me on them all, no questions asked.
Even though the wheel is 50 lbs heavier then Vermeer's the clutch lasts just fine. The increased momentum from the heavier wheel is awesome.

Plyscamp runs the Multi-tip teeth on a 252 I think, maybe he could give his opinion, I think he likes them alot.

I have been running Multi tip for many years. We grind in rock every day. Did try Greenteeth prior to Multi tip and found them just about useless in rocky conditions. Lost almost all the bevel on the tooth right away and could not resharpen the Greenteeth. You could not pay me enough to go back to anything that had pockets there a PITA.

The Multi Tip Can be broken in rock but have been more durable than anything else i have used. Can not speak to the Sandvik system as I have never used it. However all that I have read on the Sandvik System has been positive.

The Multi Tip System will cutt about 35% faster than the Vermeer Pro teeth and as someone mentioned earlier they will kick about a 6" to 8" curly que chip even in Pine.

Time has past...how do you all feel now?

We are ready to make the change from the typical veermer teeth.

Multi-tip or Sandvik?

We need to decide quickly! Help
