What is your favorite tree or trees ?

sourwood looks great - is it common ornamental tree in your area?

I love the foliage of the Sourwood, it's an outstanding tree. Unfortunately, our limestone soils here in central New York are too alkaline for it. But I found and planted in my yard the next best thing -- a Persian Parrotia. Similarly red/yellow/red leaves, but tolerant to a wide pH range.
