I need a 2 cycle oil that will change the color of the gas, We run so many cans of mixed gas we have problems with guys not knowing if its mixed or not, and locking up our cut off saws, so what do you guys use also it needs to be a one mix for all ratio type of oil since we run a few different ratios..........

I was using one that made the gas red but i can't get it at bomgars anymore i don't know what the kind was our last stuff had a greenish blue color but it was hard to tell unless you poured it into a clear container.........

Thanks for the help....

I ran amsoil synthetic it had dye in it and it was easy to see that it was mixed. I wish mobil one had dye in their oil. I hate seeing clear gas in my saws it makes me cringe everytime I start it and It is harder to see through the transparent gas tank.

I use Husqvarna XP two stroke oil. It makes my fuel a beautiful shade of blue.
It is, without doubt, the best oil in the known universe. I doubt that anyone will disagree.

he he...he he...

I use the STIHL oil. It makes the fuel a blue colour. Castrol two stroke oil does the same thing. I think Castrol makes the oil for Stihl

I prefer to use Amsoil in my 028,041. The reason is simple. (I will stir up the hive for this) but you cannot argue with scientific data. Stihl, Husky oils are ok for all pratical purposes. However, you cannot dispute the fact that synthetic lubricants are far superior to conventional oils.I do not have the data in front of me but I will stick like epoxy to Amsoil. My 041 starts easier, has more RPM,S and near zero smoke. Ditto for the 028. I run it at a mix of 80/1. I reciently checked the compression on the 041 and it is STILL at 135 psi. Ken

Mobil, but I also dont like the fact there is no dye in it.

You can absolutely argue with scientific data, but it's considerably more difficult if it consists of ambiguous, abstract terms thrown around with nothing to back them up. Here's how it works, you present your data, then we decide for ourselves whether it's "scientific." We don't need someone who believes advertising hype to be a scientist for us.

I'm another synthetic user.
Redline; which I presume is red except I've never noticed the mixed fuel color to see just how much dye is in it.

I did notice the lack of perceptable smoke at 40:1 and the rather unusual exhaust odor.

Spacemule, I respect your rude, crude and obnoxous reply. We all have beliefs and I will stick to mine.If you have the intelligence to read the following posts many people will agree with my assement.I am not condoning your opinion except your vocabulary skills are in need of definate improvement. I you want data simpy go to Amsoil.com All the data is their.Enjoy the well educated reaing.

can of worms.
few things on this site will get the fight started faster than talking mixing oils and ratios!

That said, I run Klotz (synthetic), 40:1 It has just enough red dye in it to make it perfectly clear when in a red gas can.
I never keep any gas on the truck that is not mixed. It just isn't worth the risk.

So, are we arguing beliefs or scientific data?

I was neither rude, crude, nor obnoxious. As far as questioning my verbiage; well, I'll not justify that with a response.

Which subject were you shooting for, "I" or "you?" I'll not proofread your post for you, other than to say your meaning will be more obvious should you choose to proofread the post yourself and utilize accurate punctuation. Oh, and by the way, perhaps you could expand my vocabulary by telling me what "simpy" is? :p G'day sir.

Man this forum has some good posts. I too am an Amsoil user but not in my chainsaw yet. Its still new and will go through 5 gallons of Husqvarna oil/gas 50:1. Then I will switch over. The Husqvarna is a bluish color but is hard to see unless some spills out onto your truck bed. OPPS I hope the EPA hounds arent out. The Amsoil is definately a nice red color and there is no mistaking it for non-mixed gas!

I run Echo oil. I have 12 ex ports that look like new and slimy with oil, all the proof I need that this stuff works. I ran a couple of tanks full of synth mix in the 660 one time `cause I ran out of fuel on the job, my jug was DRY when I checked it (albeit undamaged) and that just scares me. If I ain't smelling burnt dinosaurs I don't feel like I'm cutting and synth oil STINKS when it burns. I know I'm in the minority here so feel free to flame on. I'm an old fart and I'm stuck in my ways, I'll never put snake oil in my saws.

Used ValvoLine Durablend (without the dye), now Dolmars red coloured synth.
Always mixing some 1:30-40, not 1:50. In the cold there is some tendence of the formation some deposits, fortunately not too much :)

I use the Mobil Mx2t for years now. The new formulation has a red dye in it. Very easy to see in the tank, and your fuel jug. I always ran it at 40:1 ratio. No smoke and very clean burning. It is very popular with the two stroke European Grand Prix motorcycle racing teams. I get mine at the local Auto Zone.

How long you been running this stuff? A buddy of mine races sleds (grass in summer, etc.) and swears by this stuff. Wins a lot! Used to know some karters that ran it too. They all claim better horsepower. Oxygen enhanced???

Synthetic, weed-eater to my old Homies, one gas can services all of my 2 cycle. It has worked everywhere. I used to use writing on the cans, now it's all the same joke.

Looking for 2cycle lawnmower....
