what should the compression be on a stihl handheld blower?

I tested it and got 125 sounds low after working on all my saws! Are theses blowers a little lower to begin with or what? I am working on a BG 85 and also an 86 model hand held blower both need new carbs I am wondering if I should bother?

They have the real small plug hole so I had to use a tester with a rubber tip and hold it!

Plus it might not have the schrader valve at that rubber end and you would lose a little there, making it a bigger deal with the small displacement.

You may be right . I think it dont.

I've worked on several brands of small engines (mostly trimmers & blowers) and tested the compression in them. Most seem to fall in the 120-145 psi range if there is no visible piston damage. It is rare for me to find a blower or trimmer that is above 150 psi (which as you've noted is common on high performance chainsaw engines). The engines I've used tend to run well at 125 psi.
