Ok, you want to buy two saws, and you want to spend $8-900 Right? Now, what are you going to do with these saws?

All

I WILL DO ALL BUT NOT JUST WITH THOSE SAWS... SINCE I A HAVE LARGER SAW TOO. WHAT SIZES FOR THE PRICE RANGE.. I am not looking for advice but raw price/ size data

Isn't there at least one Stihl dealer up there in the kingdom.I know there was one in Hardwick or Greensboro Bend and another in St. Johnsbury area. They could probably give you the answers.

sorry

sorry what I mean is I know what i can do with what size saw... I just wanted to know what saw i can get two of with that price.... size not really being a factor...

There are at least 3-4 Stihl dealers in your area.Your best bet is to go talk with one of them.I recommend Gebbie's in East Hardwick..nice guy, good to deal with

Depends on what you want to do with them???

I'll asume that your cutting general firewood, storm clean up, and pruning around the house

An MS361 and a MS180 would make a nice saw combo for that type of work in that price range

Or if you were doing larger projects or just getting real serious about your cutting, I would highly recomend the MS460 / MS260 combo. Thats what I use and I'll say you would have to look long and hard to find trees this setup won't handle. (I know someones gonna post a pic :D ). Not gonna be in your price range though unless you buy used.

I think what people are trying to tell you is that its better to buy a saw(s) based on projected usage, amout and frequency of use rather than price alone.

Case: I need a car.

You: I need 2 identical cars costing $40,000 total.

AS recommendation: How will you use the car.

Good luck,

Jack

Ah, gotcha.

Assuming Stihl: MS260, MS260Pro, MS280, MS310, MS390, maybe MS361 if your dealer likes you.

Assuming Husqvarna: 339, 346xp, 350, 353, 359, and maybe 357xp.

And for Dolmar: 5100s, 6400.

And for Home Depot: you should be able to get four used Makita 6401 for that price.

Or an 075 and an 076:
