If you just convinced the wife to spend the money to rebuild your 084...and... your buddy calls and says he's at a sale and just "got" you a box with 2 (two) 031 stihls and a bunch of parts. I guess I need suggestions on where to hide my new "treasure".

Well, first you need to embezzle the $. So rebuild the 084 yourself. Then have your buddy come over and "give" you a couple of old Stihls and a box of parts that he found in his cousins shed.

You would be surprised at how many "old" saws my father in law has given me. This works great for me and thank the big man upstairs that my wife can't get on the internet.:hmm3grin2orange:

Another tactic is to just get a bunch and weather the intial storm. After that they really can't count. Like mother ducks counting ducklings 1, 2 .. many...

Try to get a variety of "colors" to start with. That is the female recognition factor when it comes to saws. Other than that they usually cant tell the difference between a 120cc and a 30cc saw.

If you don't you will have to deal with things like "RED?....I thought your saw was orange....." for at least a while anyway.

Does not your buddy occasionally bring you saws to fix, clean, tune, or some other manly work on? When he delivers your, er HIS new stuff, it's just so you can toss in some elbow grease to help him out. THEN, once the cost to repair exceeds what he wants to put in, THEN buy them off him or allow him to dump them off on you.

No, I don't really advocate dishonesty toward wimminfolk. Jus ttell her that you had a deal in the works and your bud had a parallel one in the works and they both materialized at once. crap happens.

Awwww......... Just be honest......
Then tell her it's better then you being a "Crack Head"

Its not so much being dis-honest as protecting your interests. Saws have made me more than they have cost but usually your wife isn't looking at the big picture. Tis best to make these kind of decisions on your own.

If you only knew what kind of money your wife spends on ?????????.......

Won't work with my wife - she know exactly what we have, and what is what.....:rockn: :rockn:

Not here on my home front. The only thing my wife hates more than chainsaws are bikesaws. She is just jealous because of all the time I spend with my delectable beauties.:love1:

Not that this will work, but mentioning that faster saws, and more saws just gets things done quicker, and then mention something you did together (don't go back to far for that, it would be counter-productive) ,,,then work in a question, if she likes your new "saw polish" give it a nail-polish like name,,, try "rodeo-red" or ask if the two-tone Jack-o-lantern/alabaster works for her? ,, If she blinks for a second, work in how you just hate blowing more money on new saw polish, but if there was something she didn't like, that you would!

Like I say, not that it would work, but it is worth a chance?

Just remind her that there are much worse and more expensive hobbies out there. I think this one out does my saw habit.

I don't wanna hear any marital woes from you Troll. Washing parts in the dishwasher...sheesh!

Leave it at your buddies place, come on, you have an 084 to play with, let those 031's morph into an 066, then bring it home.:greenchainsaw:

Does the garage have storage space up above??

Speaking of dishwashers, I traded a newer Maytag dishwasher and $450 for a 394 with a 30"Cannon and a Walkerized 395 with a 37" Tsumura. Good deal, my women knew it as well, I can buy another nice dishwasher for about half the new price of one of those saws. Be honest, upfront, life is easier that way. Its not like you found a strange piece of tail, c'mon.

Looks to me like you all's error is trying to justify the saws. That never works, because it's arguable. All you gotta do is say "I bought all this crapload of saws because that's how I get off!" That's hard to argue with. :greenchainsaw:
