old fuel containing ethanol-oil seperated from the Gas and the ethanol settled to the bottom of tank, the fule/ethanol was then used in the saw


the saw was used on the rainy west coast with out a air filter cover causing the air filter to get soaked
 
the small steel thing in the carb also known as screws springs that round metal thing on the gasket the inlet tube for the fuel and the float needle? did i win a cookie?

o.k.... WHICH PART IS NOT STAINlESS STEEL?
 
I don't have a clue why something would get that covered in rust, unless you leave it sit outside all the time...


But Im in a boderline desert around here...

Inside of every damn Walbro and Zama carb there is one part that can rust... and it's been that way forever, BUT with alcohol in the gas, the problem is getting worse.. Which part - look at the pictures....

from your pics, the only piece that has rusted is the head of the little screw that holds the metering arm down.
