I did a search on this and did not find enough cohesive data. If I'm wronge please let me know.
When I was trained with Penn-Del ISA chater climbing school. It was said if you have 2-3? nicks in the same thread the line was disqualified.
OK, different rope streangths are not included here. Look at the Samson ArborMaster rated at 8,100 lbs. vs Yellow Jacket rated at 6,200 lbs.
I'm sure many here are like me, hey, whats a couple of nicks 20 to 30' apart I'm past that part in the climb, so what. And .... Or the rope manufacturer says, ....
The question really is what is definitive in your experiences, regarding line retirement?
