I look at the decomp valve as an accessory, like AC in a car.
Pros just don't require it, women (ok some women) and some senior citizens do.

Sometimes it`s the starting mechanism of the saw that requires a decomp valve, but do agree that for the price/feature difference I like the standard ms260 better than the Pro model. I also find the standard model oiler to be more generous.

Stihltech, someone is posting under your name; I can't believe otherwise! My son's 066 definitely doesn't like to be teased. I dont know whether it is especially cranky, but I sure appreciate the decompressor on it. It will practically pull you back into its little hole. Now I am not a "pro" chain saw user, but it sure makes sense to me to have a decompressor on that; granted on an 026 size saw it is of much more marginal use.

I know what you mean Frank,
I had a 066 and thought I was too tough to use the decomp button.
After a day's on and off work with the saw bucking some large wood my arm was very sore.
I always used the decomp feature since

Using the decomp button saves on the starter pawls, and such. If you arent ready to pop the larger saws they might pop you. Also if you need a "work" saw and money is an issue get the stock 440 with 24" bar, great ground saw. a little tougher than a 372. plus Stihl is in dang near every community in the US.

200t with decomp

You want a decomp on your 200t? I'd say put one on the Mac 100 series first, those things have almost as much compression as a saw 2.5X larger than 2.0CID.

Actually my 026 is harder to pull than the 372. I wonder if it might have something to do with the diameter of the recoil reel diameter. Anyway I know it is a bummer to have a recoil handle plucked out of cold fingers when you get a bit lazy and not quite assertive enough. They can take their opportunity and talk back.

Het Stihltech, hate to bum you but the "chainsawelbow" isnt a result of starting the saw it comes over time from the actual running of the saw.
