I don't know but the 090's in the jungles of South America have to be up there. Then again, the older saws that I'm not aware of had to stack up well in the PNW.

Cross-Cut. Chainsaws have only been around for 60 years or so.............

Point well taken and more than likely true! For the same reason why so many old world carpenter's saw arm was three times larger than their other!

Which saw do you guys think has cut the most timber of all time??? i personally think the 066/660 stihl probably holds the record. just wanted to see what you all thought. fire away

No question Stihl has to be the timber cutting champ of all time. They've been around forever and all over the world. In terms of exact model I'd go with the 044. Seems anyone that has a 066/660 has a 044 as well and chances are the 044 gets used more often, guessing here now, not fact..

That's why I originally voted for the 044 Tom... 'round here (PNW) the 044 was "THE" saw for many, many years until the 046 popped on the scene. That's why I also picked the 046.

The thing about the 044 is how popular it was not just in timber country but all over. Hell I got many yuppies using 044's. A tree in their backyard is timber to them, so I guess a tree is a tree,LOL No doult the 044 has sawed one helluva lot of wood not just by timber fallers but everyone....

If you are talking board feet,I would say it has to be a McCulloch 797 or 125 remember, old growth.

Most trees? Maybe most volume of wood, I say Husky 2100, it was there from the mid '70s through the '80s, used on the massive clearcuts of old growth in B.C. (that I know of, must have been used elsewhere as well). Massive clearcuts, massive trees, billions of b.f.

im sure the crosscut saws have any of the chainsaws beat with no questions. but im talking chainsaws...keep the ideas coming

stihl

I would say 044's and 066's got the most felling under their belts. Heck I was at an old farmers house and we was going to his shed to look at a baler and I seen a saw sitting in there on a 5 gal bucket, here it was an 066. I go "That yours?" He goes "Yup, ran it yesterday". Yup I'd say 044's and 066's.:) :greenchainsaw:
