Which taco pump are you OWB people using? I noticed in the WAY overpriced pre packaged install kit from woodmaster, that they supply a Taco 0011. I cant get one until monday the earliest. I can get a Taco 007 at homodepot and probably get the thing running this weekend.
specs
007 flow range 0-20 gpm and head range 0-11 feet
0011 flow range 0-28 gpm and head range 0-30 feet

My boiler is 75 feet from the house and runs pretty much level if not down hill slightly based on the land contours.

Neather. I don't know why every one uses Taco. They are water lubricated and don't seem to last. I had a 007 lock up and make the boiler boil! Good thing I was at home and had a B&G to swap in. I now have a bell&gossett on the boiler and a taco 009 on the house zone. The extra $20 is worth it.

You will need a PL35 to interchange with a 0011.

I would use a NFR 22/007 and see how it works.

I have 4 different pumps

Two inside both Bronze, and 013 and an 07 tacos. The 07 is only used to circulate water from my water heater to my HX. The 013 feeds the house loops and picks up heat from the outside storage tank,
Outside in the outhouse I have two other pumps.. One is a grunfoss and the other is a 3 speed B&G. The B&G is the solar panel recirc pump.. The 3 speed function is great is gives you a basic understanding of delta-T by speeding the pump up or down you can see how the slower speed will aloow the fluid to remain in the panels longer allowing it to pick up more heat(Greater return temp).

On my circ pump to the boiler I am not even sure of the GPM, it was a grunfoss 220Volt pump I had laying around.. I am guessing it is comparable to a 007

Be careful when you are TACO shopping as there are several combinations of housing/impeller materials and it makes a huge difference in pricing. Mine are bronze and the price from my Woodmaster dealer is very close to anyone elses Bronze prices. The are much more expensive than the plastic impeller/cast iron body pumps as sold on Ebay

I returned the taco 011 I got with my woodmaster and got a B&G, it's permanently lubricated and has a longer warranty.

I was also told by the local trade houses that the taco cast iron pumps shouldn't be used for an open boiler system like a OWB and only the bronze taco pumps are warrantied by Taco if used in OWB. Anyone hear this before?
The Taco specs do call for bronze pumps in open boiler systems, I checked their site so it does make sense.

Makes sence, I had Taco deny a warranty clam on the 007 that locked up on me. :censored:
