Why does my saw have a marble in the gas tank?

Well, not really. I have a new MS460 which I cut with for the first time last Saturday. When I got home and started to clean up everything, I picked up the saw and it sounded like a marble was rolling around in the tank. It was really just the pick up body and fuel filter. It didn't do that prior to cutting with the saw, so I figure it must have vibrated loose from a clip, maybe?

Anyone discover this and can offer a solution, if there needs to be one? I drained the tank and looked around (quickly), but didn't see a clip or anything that would hold the pick up body in place.

They will rattle around if the saw is clean out of gas...I've never noticed anything in the tank to hold it in place.

Not hearing the pickup rattling around in the tank is abnormal

Now it's behaving like it should

On my 066, I actually put a couple of stainless steel washers on the fuel line next to the filter. When I was milling(long runs at full throttle), the filter would tend to empty and stay on top of the gas, and the saw would stall. Put the washers on, and no more problem...hmmm. Only happened with the new filter I got, never with the old one.

Nope, completely normal. If it didn't bounce around, you wouldn't have gas when the saw was sideways. Nothing like running out of gas 80% of the way through a falling job with 1/2 a tank of gas left...:dizzy:
