Nice pictures.:msp_thumbup: Thanks for sharing! Things sure are different up your way. Its near 40*F here today and the sun is shinin' so not a bad late winter day.

Lotsa Huskys in those photos, and a pair of mills. There is no substitute for backups when you need them!

No bugs, all is good!

Why so many saws? Its not that cold at -30, stuff's not gonna be busting left right and center?

Build yourself a Komatick (how ever you want to spell it) you can haul alot more, used then alot up your ways.

Yeah I don't normally bring 2 mills, just had the bigger saw for slabbing the wider cuts that day.
Have a old komatic which works great on packed wide trails but hangs up on tighter turns in the trees.

You must really want that lumber to be cutting out in those temperatures. I'd tip my hat to you, but my ears would freeze just looking at those photos. I'll have to call those pictures back up this summer when it gets over 40[SUP]o[/SUP] C. Thanks for posting!

This time of year it's only cold in the morning, warms up to -10 C or so by noon so not bad at all. Only the morning sled ride is a bit chilly. Days are long and sunny, not dark till almost 9 now.

Very nice milling you are doing up there, got room for another family up in those big woods?

I like your mini-mill setup. You are giving me some great ideas to redo mine, thanks for the pics.

My favorite pictures to date! Thanks for sharing. What you do with the lumber?

Hahah, I like the looks of fresh cut lumber on a sunny day. I am cutting the 6x6s for cabin walls, as well as the other lumber. After reading threads here on the forum I am hauling the 2inch slabs home and edging them with a worm drive saw, seems quicker and less waste.
