I've been running 30 RC chain on my 757. I'm just cutting firewood for personal use and I'm not in any big hurry, but the chain works well for this application. I usually sharpen after each tank full but find with this chain that it isn't always necessary. Others who know more than me say it is a bit harder to file, but I haven't found this to be a problem. A few licks with the file and its ready to go.
I'm now running 20RC on my smaller saws and I've been quite happy with it also.

I usually pick up chains to round out an order to get the best bang for my buck on shipping. I'm also far enough from a dealer that the gas bill would more than eat up any savings on shipping.

Thanks to CaseyForrest we have been shipping loops of chain in USPS Purity Mail Envelopes for $4.05 as long as the total value of your purchase is under $50.00. Any order over $50.00 is shipped by FedEx. If you still have not tried the Oregon LGX chain you are missing out. Faster and longer lasting tooth. One of the Oregon Factory guys stopped by to see us from Oregon and he told us the LGX was the same hardness as Stihl uses. The main chain manufacturers are Stihl, Carlton, Oregon and Windsor which is owned by Oregon. We sell all Four brands of these chains and we like them all. Private branded chains were introduced to try to get you to buy that brand and limit where you can buy them but they are sometimes the same as OEM brands.

SawTroll, I have this new chain, Only $795.00 is the cheap version or $1295.00 in the higher priced version from Husqvarna. It's on Husqvarnacp.com if you want it. Here's where price doesn't matter.

By the way have you tried the NEW Oregon LGX Chain?

Not reading good things about the new oregon chain on other forums.

Pro user- The new Oregon X chain can't take the frozen hard Maple. I broke 3 chains today. They always break the cutter in half. All the ones I broke I was using the back of the bar making the notch. Two of them were never filed.

another pro and dealer- X chain Picked up some of it last week, so far 1 broke cutter using it in Maple broke 3 and another in Oak broke 1. Not too bad a percentage when I sold 6. Both of these guys are good filers however 2 of the chains had not been filed. Now here is the kicker I gave them loops of the LG as replacements the fun part is yet to come when I try to get Oregon to replace them to me. LOL.

Hmmmm, pretty interesting..........:givebeer: :givebeer:

Btw, the last H42 chain I got (84 dl), was still the old 73LP, but I had to take the rakers down 5 to 9 strokes, to get the clearance normal......:greenchainsaw:

The 72 dl ones that came with the 372xpg, needed about 5 to 7 strokes.....

None of my earlier chains have needed the rakers to be filed, right out of the box.

Cut4fun, I have been selling this chain for months and I haven't had any complains but I'm sure Oregon would like to see those chains. Since you are up North in more frozen woods it's possible you're having problems that I'm not, as our wood has not frozen. Down here it (72LGX) is becoming the favorite chain among pro users.

I wanted to try the X chain, but with the mich guys having troubles in frozen wood. I want waste my money on it till they figure out whats happening. I been running Oregon,Stihl,Woodsman,Carlton,Windsor all without problems as a homeowner.

I got reamed, won't be buying chains from them anymore:mad:

15.95 is DIRT CHEAP for a 20" stihl chain...also in stihl chains .325 are more expensive than 3/8" for the same length bar, in my are the going rate is 27-29 for a 20" 3/8".

the Stihl dealer where i bought my saw priced me another RSC chain for 15.95

Hmmm...

I run RSF and two 28's are $35 bought last week with tacks.
Two loops of 20's are $28.

They always charge me for tacks, but I can't ever find them in the box.

stihl chains are the best but if you burn as many as I do in a month Oregon is by far the best deal. dealers have less than $8.00 per chain so do not let then still from ya.

Thanks John, I'm sure you'll like the new cutters. I had a logger drive 30 miles yesterday to buy 20 loops just because a friend of his bought some from me. Another logger from here came in today and (with his eyes real big) said I need some of that new chain. His guys love it. :rockn: :rockn: :rockn:
