It seems to me everyone cant find good help or even any help. There should be plenty of jobs open .

There are. It’s the same old bs though. Nobody knows how to do anything anymore,, either that or they’re unemployable for whatever reason. Seems to me any kind of mechanic is in high demand. It’s one of those hands on skilled jobs that most of the new pansies out there are too good to do - even if they were capable of doing it.
