I started visiting this site about 4 weeks ago. I came looking for help to repair my Husky 346xp. Parts have been ordered and are on the way. The help was great. Thanks

Since then, I have aquired a Homelite 240 from a friend. It runs like it is brand new. I cut about 1 cord of wood with it this weekend. It worked great on the 8" to 10" stuff. The only thing wrong with it is that the clutch cover is broke. So, I searched the site and Arborview has parts saw for sale. Great!! Check is on the way.

Well, after reading all the post about the Stihl 361, I went to my dealer to check it out. I was sold on the saw as soon I started it. I brought it home last night. I am hoping to get to the pile of 16" cherry that needs cuts later this afternoon.

I don't need this many saws but...you guys made me do it. :rockn:

Another victim of AS membership...... :hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange:

Congrats with the 361 - great saw!:rockn: :rockn:

Hey, I've only bought one saw since I started here, but am eyeballing a second when my wife takes a spending break. I've got a hole in the 75-80cc category I need filled.

Hey Emmerth, once I was cutting down a hickory with my Stihl 066 when I hit a nail a nuked the chain. There were some time constraints, so I didn't have time to mount a fresh chain, so I grabbed my Husky 266 to finish the job. Well, three cuts later, the screw comes off the throttle plate and into the crankcase, taking a chunk of the piston with it. So, that saw was done for the day. I grabbed my Dolmar 119 to finish the job, but it was set up for cutting cookies with a short bar and modified chain, so that saw was out of the question. Finally, I grabbed my Stihl 028 with the 95VP narrow kerf .325 chain and got the job done.

See, even the simple act of bucking a log might require three or four saws (or more!).

Hey man, next thing you will drag home is a MS441, that is what I did. Just warn your wife that you have "chainsaw fever" and adding chainsaws to the collection in a symptom.

I just got done running the 361 for about 1.5 hours. I am impressed. No stalling or bogging in 16" to 20" cherry. I thought the 346xp would zip through wood...but this 361 is a monster.

One thing that I did notice is that it ran through 4 tanks of gas in this time frame. Is this normal? My 346 would run on 2 tanks in 1.5 hrs.

I got the fever. lol

Thanks for the support Andyshine - I think I still remember your first post here, even though I wasn't a member then.........

Really nice that you have taken up posting again!! :rockn:

Congrats on the new 361

Sorry to hear about the fever.

I think yours is about the third or fourth other new 361 I've heard of being bought during my short time aboard. I lasted to halfway through my 6th day. :help:

What I suspect, is there are Stihl 'plants' here undercover. Highly-trained experts in the art of psychological warfare, set loose on this forum.

Wait till ya start hearing the voices calling for a woods port & muffler job on a new saw.
