Thanks! That one was posted, and then someone posted one that was in a lot better shape. I want to get as good a pic as possible, for the guy to work with. Also a nice pic of the a/c decal....

I don't remember seeing a second one posted. If it's in this thread, it's probably shortly after page 1255 where this one was posted. Are you sure the better one you saw wasn't a 'script' 306A decal (as in "Thirty-O-Six" Automatic)? Seen several of those here.

No, it was the 245. Someone mentioned that they hadn't seen one like it, and someone posted a pic with something like "like this one?" with it. And it was a lot nicer saw......Maybe the owner will read this and post it again...

Humm.....a lot nicer saw!??? Went back and looked at all the posts since my post of my recently acquired 245A with the close up picture of the script decal on the clutch cover. Didn't see any pictures of a 245A with the script decal like mine. In fact all the other 245A's that I've seen in researching this saw are later models that don't have the script style decal. I'd be interested in getting a new scripted decal for mine when you get it figured out....hopefully the owner of the "a lot nicer saw" will post the picture up again!!

I got a box today.

There's something green.

Looks like Momma Poulan needs to remove the amniotic sac.

Look, it's a little baby Poulan.

Mother and Father are doing fine. I wish it wasn't so damn hot so I could run it.

That's a really fine looking little saw!

Tried sending you a PM, but it said you had too many stored messages and couldn't receive any more until some were cleared out.....
I sent the photo, of yours, to the decal guy and he said that if he can get a good, clear, STRAIGHT-ON, shot of the decal, he should be able to do it. Can you get a pic and post it? Also, the a/c decal is just the standard 245A decal, right? Are there any other decals that are specific to that saw? He said he'd like to make it up as a complete set of stickers.

It kind of looks like it's been modified into a demolition saw a fire department would use for ripping into buildings, roofs, etc, but I'm just guessing.

Hey Steve.........a cynical, smartass kinda person could draw conclusions regarding Joe's assessment of your inteligence based on his writing "bar" on the long thin packaging within a box containing the chainsaw you just bought from him. Good thing I'm not a cynic or a smartass....:D

That's indeed a "venting" bar, as used by fire departments. The Echo venting saw has a bar like that.

...

Speaking for myself :clown:, that kind of help is needed and appreciated.

Wendell, I'm looking forward to hearing what you think of your baby Poulan!

I was thinking the same thing. :msp_sad:

I could never figure out why these people (no offense) start bidding on an item right away. As a buyer, you want to get that item as cheaply as possible, so it doesn't make sense to start bidding right away. It gives another bidder, who may have only bid a certain amount at the last minute, time to think about it, and maybe bid higher. Same with maybe a couple other bidders. Early bidding is great for the seller, but not so good for the buyer. I like finding the items that no one is bidding on.:msp_biggrin:

Kinda depends on who the bidder is. If it's a shill bidder (not suggesting anyone would stoop to that), getting the ball rolling, as you suggested, may be good for the seller.

It's that "I've gotta be winning" thing.
Some people just can't stand to not be winning the bid.

Same thing goes for that deal at live auctions where you buy choice and they sell the rest at that same price.
I've seen people go berserk and get in a bidding war on something that is part of a lot of the exact same item and it brings an astronomical price, the high bidder chooses one and the next high bidder gets one and when no one else wants one at those prices the auctioneer will sell the remainder again for 1/10th the first winning bid.
Then the first two bidderes get mad at everyone who buys at the cheaper price.:dizzy:

Oh well, that is why they call it an auction.

Decal pics needed

Does anyone have a 245 manual oiling saw? I need to get pics of the decals. The saw, I'm working on, is just a 245...not an automatic.

Screw For Isolator Spring for Poulan Pro 4218AVX

Greetings,

Does anyone know where I can obtain or purchase one (1) screw for an insolator spring for the Poulan Pro 4218AVX? I am looking to purchase it and it does not have to be new. The screw part number from the IPL is: 530016443. I am also willing to pay a reasonable price, but I refuse to pay $6.00-$8.00 postage. Thanks, Islero

PS The rebuild has gone well, but that is for another time. Again thanks!!
