Boy are YOU guys gonna be mad! The wife says, "Could the plug be bad?" My answer is "Nah, I've NEVER had a bad NGK plug!" Just for kicks I swapped it out. Nice blue spark. Go ahead, have at me, I deserve it!

The wife is pretty happy with all the tools I just gave her.

:buttkick:

Better to look like a dullard with a working saw than a smartass with a dead one!

I humbly accept dullard status. And yes, I'm guessing I might own the saw because it had the bad plug.....that puts a nice, shiny spin on it! I have promised to let my wife choose between a Husqvarna 141 (reringed, muffler and carb off a 41 so the thing can actually breathe) and this 025 when it is done. I'm guessing she'll choose the cute little 025 over the pale "orangy-colored" one. I rather like the 41/141s because they are light, abundant, easy to work on, and have been reliable for me. I know they are both homeowner-grade saws, but I'm guessing that the 025 is a higher-quality unit. I guess I'll see, I've never run one! If I like this one, I may have a lead on another fixer-upper.

You guys have been great on this one!

Hmmm... I spent a day messing with my pressure washer (o.k., I rebuilt the pump as well).. Had a great looking plug.. ran like crap after a minute or two, about to buy a new coil, but put a new plug in anyhow - works great...

In the store we always put in a new plug for every service. Other than a lot come in fully flooded, no particular reason, but they cost us a less then a $1.00...

Yes, happily, the saw runs! I WILL do some work on it to make it all right before I turn it loose.....a thorough dissassembly for cleaning, a carb job, fuel lines and filter, new bar and chain, etc. It was REALLY nice to hear it pop for the first time. I liken it to golfing, you can just downright stink (which I do), but those few sweet shots you DO hit put a big dumb smile on your face!

Stihltech, I will turn the connector around. The sloppy assembly (including the rubber grommet for the electricals) was a reflection of the fact that I took it apart and put it back together about half a dozen times last night and another half a dozen times this morning while troubleshooting. I didn't put anything together that I thought was going to need to come apart again. Thanks for all the help.

So send me the other coil, since I knew it was ok, I can e-bay it.

I ask questions, so that the cure can be worked out.

The trick is asking the right questions................................
