The round part goes into the crank, but the flat part that grabs the flywheel has an offset on it, I don't want to put it in the wrong way and effect the timing of the saw

Also I don't have an IPL so could someone help me with the clutch install, the worm gear goes into the oil pump, it looks like the bushing goes into the worm gear, then there's a washer you can see in the picture, I don't know if this goes on then the clutch goes on or? Thanks guys, I forgot to take a few pictures during the breakdown

In this order, washer bushing oiler gear, larger washer(didn't see in pic) clutch. The key doesn't have an offset stock. Someone may have filed one side of the key to advance the timing. If so, the stepped side of the key should face in the clockwise direction. Not knowing how much it is offset, you may want put a new stock key in it for now.

Does the hole for the muffler mod look large enough?

I've read that 70~80% of the exhaust port is an acceptable area to use, but different saws yield different results. Looks like you could have been a little more aggressive with your opening, but it's easier to open it in stages than trying to close it back up! I'd leave it as is until you get the saw going again, tuned, and have a few tanks through it to see how it performs before going much further on the muffler itself...but that's just me.

The muffler I modded for my 034 has the additional opening equivalent to a 0.75" - 0.875" diameter hole.

So the oil line was a pain, not as terrible as I have heard it was but definitely a pain. I tried to put it onto the oil pump first then slide it up from the clutch side but the angle was too much and it didn't want to slide in so I had to take it back off and work it up off the oil pump.
Take the brake band off next time! And remove the oiler. Makes it easier to snake the line into place.

Ok so I'm almost done with this rebuild, today I got the upgraded clutch bearing kit. Everything went on smooth and the bearing is much bigger than the old!

Still waiting on the carb kit from the dealer, it's been a week and three days so I'm really hoping it will be here very soon.

Sounds like ill be ordering oem, is there a part number for the whole filter or only available in halfs

As of this summer, it was only for the halves, apparently they all used to be that way.

Still following this thread as I just rebuilt an 034/036 hybrid with Hyway piston/cylinder. So far, so good. I put it into wood today and am liking it. Making this saw out of 2 dead parts-saws was fun. I picked up 2 036s (one pro) for parts as well... should have enough spare parts for 1 decent saw.

Is yours a runner yet? I'm using a Meteor in an 034Super and like it a lot.

this thing will look great when your done ,,i just rebuilt an 036 but just piston and ring went through the carb cleaned it all up and painted up an old 24 inch bar for it but cant find a top cover for it,,,,
