So I cleaned and installed new springs on the OEM clutch and slapped her on with the original drum. Only issue is it seems like it's only spinning the oiler when spun counter clockwise? Any ideas what I did wrong?

Installed the new name tag and only thing I'm waiting on to fire her up is the recoil which should be here tomorrow.

Looking good!
If you want to bring out a little more color in the plastics spray some WD-40 on a rag and wipe the saw down. Lately I have tried putting a small amount of bar oil on a rag and got really good results. Lol

there is a little notch in the clutch drum ,did you line it up with the wire part off the oil pump drive ?

That saw is beautiful just the way it sits!

Thanks guys, I have named her ugly Betty because she's not a looker when she's just sitting there, once she gets back from some special treatment she will be a beast though!

Any input on the oiler issue?

I use Yamabond. Always had great luck. Same as Hondabond.
I tried 518 on an 038 rebuild.
Somehow managed to get a dab on the skirt of the piston. The next day the piston was adhered to the cylinder. Had to remove jug to clean it and clean up with that stuff is a pain in the azz.
But don't let my bad experience keep you from tryin it

Ok so today was the day, my recoil still hasn't come in but I pulled one off a friends project saw and threw it on mine cause I couldn't wait to get it running. The saw started in 4 pulls and my stihl mechanic friend helped me get her tuned up, she's set a little rich right now. She sounds great and has really good throttle response. I'm going to try to get her into some wood this weekend and get a few ranks of fuel through her than she's getting drained and sent out for porting. Pretty excited for it and can't wait to get her into wood!!

It's been real rainy here the last week and work in the electrical field has been picking up so I haven't had many chances to get out and cut. Today was the day though!! My friend stopped by so we ran across the street to a good sized oak that the neighbor said I can take.

HOLY CRAP!! The saw has balls!! I feel it's a ton more power than the 036. The saw is set pretty rich and is 4-stroking in the cut a bit but I wanted to run it rich the first few tanks to break it in. It just effortlessly eats through the oak, I am seriously excited for this saw!!

Ran about half a tank through her and had to shut her off to support the log, I picked the saw up and heard something weird, like something was loose, shook the saw and the muffler bolts were loose on the cyl. We called it quits and I went home and both bottom bolts of the muffler cover were loose and the bolts that hold the back muffler to the cyl were both real loose. The piston still looks good with just a couple slight marks at the top that I wasn't concerned with.

Why would these bolts loosen up so quick? Obviously vibration but should I maybe have thread locker like blue locktite on the bolts? Maybe some lock washers?

Yup
Looks like bearing issues to me. Hard to tell from such small pics on muh phone though.......but you definitely got issues. Might be a tad on the lean side or it's slowly eating a bearing by the looks of things.

The skirt of the piston doesn't have a scratch on it, just above the top ring it has a few lines not deep at all.

What makes it look like bearings? I'm still learning a ton about saws and want to get better with diagnosing them. What would make the bolts loosen up do you guys think? And why?

Well let's see, he put new bearings in and in his thread he said he had it tuned rich. To me it looks like the bearing on the clutch side but hard to tell from pics.
