I'm not seeing the nylon insert in that particular cup. It is a very pronounced piece on say an 045 friction shoe setup and to my knowledge was not used on the 1111 series cups. Someone else may chime in on the issue of compatibility, but I don't think they are.

And DDave, if your dealer can't find the part number for the refurb kit (probably won't), have them go direct to the Bryan Equipment cross references and it'll be there. $12.49 thru my dealer includes all the parts listed in one of the earlier IPL's you have -- excluding the cup which is NLA even from Bryan Equipment.

Pogo IIRC the nylon cup is not used on this series. I think they all are metal cups. I know the 041, 045, 056's, TS350, 08's used a setup very similair to the 051/076 series but the nylon insert goes over the metal cup.

Correct (according to the series of 1111 IPL's DDave loaned me.) The 1111 friction shoe setup used the metal cup until the transition to the pawl setup.

And the term "insert" is sorta just based on the visual impression one gets when looking 'into' a cupped fan/flywheel that has one. As you correctly stated and as illustrated below from a 1115 (045) IPL, "sleeve" is a more accurate description of the nylon piece which is referred to as a "ring" in the IPL.

I'm sorry Pogo, I need my eyes checked or a bigger phone! Lol. I was referring to the fiberglass tape on the outside of the cup. To me at first it looked like it was inside, my bad!! Thank you for catching that! I do think the nylon inside the cup is still a better design for the friction shoe but I have seen them get stripped out of thier grooves and spin inside the cup. Got to really love these saws!!

Ok guys I finished my 076 build!! Pretty happy about that. I was up late last night putting on the last few parts. She did fire off nicely in the basement (you can do that when your single, lol!!) Now I just need a short block to put to put another one together. I have a kid in her fourth semester in Madrid who keeps bugging me for money, lol!!IMG_0621.JPG IMG_0623.JPG

I guess I have to revise my post and say that its an 075 because there is no handle guard, Upated of course to the new pawl starter/tank with external trigger. Cant wait to put her into some wood this weekend!!

Ya I took a little trip down to sunny FLa to visist Mum. She's not doing well. I got a feeling Ill become a frequent flyer. Next build will be TS 760. For some reason those things are going like hotcakes. I'll keep my 056 Mag II if I cant get what I put into it. I always wanted one anyway!

The top oil fill is the older 075 case, correct?? Hopefully Poge will straighten me out, (as alway ;-0) I do have lots of extra parts for anyone whose going to build, Hint hint Dave ;-)

Is the manual oiler the only difference between the 051 & 076 cases? If so, all one needs to do, is split the case, drill the hole & install the oiler in the tank?

No Darrel its alot more complicated than that. First off the oiler is kind of and integral "built in" part. Second The jug is bigger and so are the studs, the need to be retapped out to allow for the new jug. Also there are some other things that need to be done. Many, many folks have converted a 051 to 075/076 but I have yet to see one with a manual oiler. With your skill you just might be able to do it!! I have an old style 051 air filter cover if you need one, was just about to throw it on flea bay.

Yes it can be done but the 051 oiler filler is on the side where the 075-076 is on the top. The cases would also have to be tapped to accept the bigger cylinder.
