Stihl makes a tool......... #5910-890-2800

.

Pretty tools;) All you need now is the REST of them! Like the other flywheel puller...

What's this bar fit?

I'm a little dissapointed tonight. I bought this 084 because I had a brand new bar hanging in my little saw room that wouldn't fit any of my other saws and I assumed it was a mount for the 084/088. Hate to see good parts laying around. Took a quick look at a little while ago and I don't think it's for the big mount saws.

Can anyone tell me what a Stihl Duromatic 3001 000 9231 fits?
It also has the numbers 7 79 31 stamped in it.

Just went out and looked again, those are the numbers stamped on it.

I can layout the cannon that came on the 084 and a bar off one of my other saws for a comparison photo if needed.

give me a sec ive got a bar & chain manual

I'm showong it to be a 25" bar .404", .063" 84 drive links to go on an 070 or 090 models did i beat Lake????

You beat me I was going to say 090

Man I gotta learn to type with more than one finger

and it should work just fine on your 084

And the winner is .....

070 or 090, and I thought those saws used the mount as the 084/088. Guess I'll have to find a home for it, I sure don't need another saw :dizzy:

thanks

The way they are grouped on the manual 070/090 are together

the group above that is 050, 051, 075, 076, 084, & 088

My guess is it will work on the 084 also but i would have to try it to see,
I'm gonna join Lake and have a couple or three myownself

Both of my four footer's for my 084 came off of an 090 you should be just fine. If I remember right the 090 has two chain adjuster pin holes in the bar but the rear one matches up to the 084/088, etc. so they work fine. Just one unused hole.

You are SO WRONG:buttkick:

I hope no more show up in my sawroom, one saw turned into too many all by itself :blob2:

Thanks Erick and RiverRat2, I went back out and looked. My 090 bar only has one set of chain adj holes and their about 1-3/4" forward of the 084 bar. It'll fit but the adjuster has to be screwed all the way out to clear the clutch. It looks like I can drill two holes in the same location as the cannon bar and it would work just fine.

Okay so that's why they say in the old Baileys catalogues along with the bars for the 051 etc bars "can be drilled for the 090" 2 chain adjusters interesting.

I got around to installing the new clutch springs. Here's the "tool" I made to install them without taking the clutch off.

By using a socket and ratchet as a fulcrum I was able to install all 3 springs in under a minute (if you don't count the picture time).

Here are the old and new springs side by side. Should the difference in size concern me? (ref post #73)
