I picked up an XL bow saw from either 85 or 86 a few years back.
Dad ran XL-12s all my life so I'm used to them.
Great saws. But honestly mine doesn't used as much as my Husqvarnas or Echoes.

I've got an SXL "Big Red", I'm a big fan of the saw, has a great (loud) exhaust note. The lack of antivibe doesn't bother me a bit, most of my saws are non-av. The lack of a chainbrake makes me careful using it. Very torquey saw.

It's not a modern saw but I sure like using it, gets the job done and sounds cool in the process.

I hope you wear some kind of hearing protection using those older saws; I liked the "cool" sound also until it messed up my hearing (tinnitus). Mine is mild compared to others but it's best to keep your hearing as long as you can.
