i switched to lucas as well. don't care about it's lack of stabilizers cause i go through it fast enough anyways. it's not an oil for dummy's though cause even at 32:1 it looks very close to straight gas ;)
I tried Maxima 2T and it was probably great stuff but my old brain could never remember the mix bottle. It was the same color as unmixed gas. I stick with the Woodsmans Pro synthetic, or the Poulan Synthetic when Wal Mart has it in stock.

It always amazes me reading the oil threads Poster spends BIG $'s on buying a saw, more than likely a Pro jobbie, & maybe then spends more $'s having it ported , then makes a post saying that he's going to run it on Wizz Pi** Twin overhead tool bag mulched cr** at 700 to 1 2T cos' he's read some where or some ones told him that this is the way to go & the reputable oil is too expensive if you mix it sensibly at 32/40/50 to 1, & to quote the ad it must do what it says as it's on the tin/bottle. I fail to comprehend any one spending all those $'s & then ruin it for 50cents worth of a GOOD oil,or increasing the amount mixed Having been involved with 2 smokes in bikes (road racing) saws & other small engines of 2t type for getting on for 60 years I have never come across an engine failure that could be attributed to having to much oil & if you read Bells tuning books he has proved that the more oil you pour(within reason)into it the harder it will run, & more often than not produce equal if not more power. as he states & I found it so towards the end of my racing days ,it seemed more important to have less oil in the mix than actually winning the race To sum up my ramble, I reckon it's better to spend 10/20$' s on oil than 100's of $'s on rebuilds + the down time on the saw Rant over, y'all have a safe sawing 2015

Last oil thread I bought into got me in trouble. I bought a liter of motul 800 2-T and was running my ported saws at 32-1. My Husky dealer said the AT may not be able to compensate for that much oil.
I ran that in my 550 and it did just fine. It didn't like 110 trbo blue fuel though.

Ya my 362c spit and sputtered alil when I ran the Sunoco 110 through it but if I mix 1/2 gal 110 and 1/2 gal 87 e free it runs fine. Took it a few minutes to figure it out. Im not qualified to give my opinion though according to westcoaster90 as I only used 2 tanks of fuel in 2014?? Lol!! WTH????

I just buy Murphy Premium gas and mix Echo synthetic 2-stroke oil from Rural King (because it's close to home) at 50:1. Never had a single fuel related problem since I began doing this about 15 years ago!

It didn't do bad in the 395 milling though. It did lose a little power with the 110.

Randy is right about the 87 producing more energy. Cant help but think the canned fuels are better quality control though. Thats why I mix . Probably not necessary though and my thoughts are any fuel between 87 e free to 97 or so would be fine

That octane thing is a big concern for me. If I make the alterations to my gear, so as to utilize the higher octane,
Then I want to feel highly confident of being able to continue getting said fuel type.
Ignition time fiddlement is pretty reversable, But cut cylinders or heads and maybe a piston
are pretty much a one way trip.
If I can get the right person on the phone and find out IF any of the stations near the lake
are selling No-booze gas, ( likely to continue) then it could more affordable and practical
to make the 70 mile trip about 3 times a year VS altering all of my engines and paying
so much higher price of the race fuel.
I would actually prefer to have the 100ll avgas in my four stroke equip as a fair bit of it
is from the leaded era.
not to mention it's bout a 1/3 lower price than the racer fuel.

and who knows, that racey stuff could even cause me to only be able to mow around in left hand circles
while I'm burning it.

You would be better off with 87 to 95 or so. Imo the super high octanes will burn slower and less incomplete in the short 2 stroke as the chainsaw. 87 doesnt have enough time to detonate in the short stroke

i run higher octane for the fact of this since i mow peoples yards and use a echo string trimmer with higher octane it runs cooler if i used regular gas you couldn't hardly touch anywhere on the engine and my elbow would bump it when using it went to higher octane i use 90 and my trimmer runs cooler. it might make a tad bit more power on regular but it runs cooler on higher octane and doesn't roast my elbow as bad.

i know the standard poulan 2t oil is the same according to husqvarna as there regular oil as i was told over the phone.

I can buy that. Less of the fuel burning less completely. With higher octane say 110 in the short 2 stroke there isnt enough time for the fuel to burn completely. Thats the way I see it but that may be a flop of an opinion

but what would help even more is get the catalyst out of the muffler im sure.

yeah marathon 100 octane MMT non oxy gas is 8.94 per gallon why? i don't know.

98RON or 102RON (octane number) takes even more.
95RON (with 5% ethanol) is the standard here, poor quality can not get here at the gas station

5% is better than 10% ethanol all we have here is 10% at the local stations. are grades of gas in us goes like this
87 E0 with MMT
90 E0 with MMT
100E0 with MMT
87 E10
89 E10
93 E10
95 E10
