Here is a saw i picked up a few days ago. Lombard Model GS
With the Homelite 24x2 engine. It has been repainted but not
very good. It turned over but somehow didn't feel right. I pulled
the muffler and saw a bunch of gunk. I then pulled the cylinder
and holy crap. This thing had water in it at sometime for a long
time. Well in in deep now.

Thanks Lee. Best of luck with the Lombard GS. I'm sure you will get it cleaned up and sorted out in no time. It will be a nice old machine when you are done.

Chris.

update on it will live. runs pretty good. now if i can do a vid. i'll post it. actually i took one with my cam phone. turned out grainy and no sound. and don't know how to post that.

Anytime you can get a two-man Mac to run (12-25,5-49,7-55, or 99) my hat's off to ya. Personally, I think those old carbs are usable if you can get them ULTRA clean
Igpoe:cheers:

thanks. when i say runs pretty good is a loose term. but for what i was expecting .

A few more Titans assigned for the collection. The Bluestreak Auto is a nice original machine -it has spark and compression, so hopefully will not take alot of work to get running again. It is missing one cylinder cover, so will have to fabricate one. The air cleaner cover also needs to be replaced. Very pleased with this lot.

Nice to see you working on a two man saw Lee.:msp_thumbsup:
One of my Mall 10's I restored looked somewhat like yours inside and it cleaned up.
You will get it running again. I have one of these GS models coming.
Should be here this week. Its going to need work to get it going too.

Thanks Cliff.
I like the Titans. Ever since I saw some of Marshall Trovers machines in David Lees book I was hooked. I also enjoy their big timber history as well. I like the big IEL single cylinder machines too. After working with an IEL CC Engineering MA - I have not picked up a heavier two man machine as yet - apart from my CC Engineering Bluestreak Electric. The big Merc Disston KB's are a brute, but mine are yet to arrive. The ship is due in very soon so looking forward to unpacking many months of work.

Regards,

Chris.

I was at an auction yesterday, and picked up what I was told is an old Disston. It has a Mercury 7 HP Motor on it, with Model number KB6-AY. Not very often you find a two man chainsaw, so I had to buy it.

The saw is in very rough shape. The Pull cord handle was torn off, so I could not check for compresion. Also the fuel cap is broken off, but everything else seems to be there. I plan on tearing it down, cleaning it up, get it running, and put a nice coat of paint on to make a Good show saw.

The problem is, I normally only work on Remingtons, and I would like to have some more information on this before I start working on it. Any information you could give me on rebuilding this saw would be a great help. IPL's, Service Manuals, or some personal experience would be awesome.

Thanks
