1940's Antique Chainsaw - Mall Model 6

I live near the city where this is listed. If somebody here works out a deal with the guy (I don't want to handle anybody's money) I can check it out and help get it shipped out to you.

I rang the guy this morning and am now in contact with him looks as if it could be mine hope so.

May I slip another Mall in here: Mall 11 bowsaw - YouTube I've been having a lot of trouble getting it started ever since I've had it. I've been too lazy to take the carb off and clean it, too lazy to remove the flywheel and dress the points and clean the laminates, etc. I found after much frustration starting again that the fire was Disston-Mercury orange, nice color for the saw, but NOT for your spark! I had to literally destroy the flywheel to get it off and found the usual suspect. Bendix Scintilla makes spark but their insulating coatings are always split to hayll. Replaced it and the condenser and filed the points and polished. It starts on the third pull from cold now and idles sweet. Don't know how if it's gonna cut untill the Central Va./Dinosaur50 GTG the 31st of March.(see separate thread) Still haven't had the carb off......................someday.
:cheers:Igpoe

Lots of nice 2 mans in this thread, thanks for posting. If it weren't for the dang shipping cost, I would really be interested importing some models of the IEL, Mall, Mac saws, etc. which are impossible to find over here....maybe someday.

Yeah, I tried to get a Euro member to ship me a Dolmar two-man or a Rexo, but it's very, very expensive. Especially from certain countries like Germany.

I do have several extra Malls if you ever decide you need to trade for one. A 6, a 7, and a 7H...

Be happy to send you a container load of Mercs, Malls, Macs, Disstons and Titans for a load of KS 43's in trade. :msp_biggrin:

The Stihl KS43 at Stihl NW distributor warehouse. Model Profile: KS 43

This saw belongs to Stihl Germany and is on loan for display purpose.

When sitting side by side you might notice a similar aperance to the Mall 7 series.

After WW2 Aurther Mall played a major roll in getting Andreas Stihl released from the corporate detention camp the US army had placed him in.

In return Andreas helped Mr. Mall in redesigning his saws as noted in the Mall 6 to 7 change.

What make/model saw is the blue one in this listong? It sure isn't a Homelite....

HOMELITE CHAIN SAWS FOR SALE

This listing is very near me. I could help folks with it if need be. The guy has been relisting these two saws for over a year. My guess is that you could probably negotiate down from his asking prices quite a bit.

Thanks, Jacob, I'll do some more detailed research and be in touch later. German shipping costs are normally cheaper than from belgium or Holland...:(

A few more Titans assigned for the collection. The Bluestreak Auto is a nice original machine -it has spark and compression, so hopefully will not take alot of work to get running again. It is missing one cylinder cover, so will have to fabricate one. The air cleaner cover also needs to be replaced. Very pleased with this lot.
