Ya, I'm sure. I enjoy doing it. Then there can be the problem of too many people wanting your services.
I wonder if David Crosby had that problem after he so generously donated a portion of himself to Melissa Etheridge and her partner...

Ya. 288's are cool saws. Dang I wish I still had mine. Decomp is nice on a high comp saw. Easier on the recoil too.
I just say the one without the decomp cause I've already ported the only cylinder I've got with a decomp for the stock 288 piston. And from what I understand the 066 skirts are narrower so I cant use a pop in that cylinder no more..... I didn't think far enough ahead.... :censored:
The 288's are WAY cool saws... By far my favorite
You should totally not have sold yours...
I used to love my 338xp when I was climbing but I think I would have set it down to run a ported 200t
I've never run a 338, all I've had is the 200T, its so good stock, best climbing saw I think.
Yes, I should not have sold it. It was at the time just before CAD set in and I sold it when I got my first 394, and I thought why do I need a 288 when I have a 394?? What the heck was I thinking.
Kinda sucks that the 066 piston has narrower skirts then the oem 288 one. If it were me I'd just cut the base and machine the OEM piston to a popup as long as there is enough room to do so?
338 is fast, light and comfortable in the grip as is the 200t I always just thought the 338 was a little faster in the cut. but a ported 200t........
Very nice work Will
I've heard alot of good things on the 200T!
I really don't have a use for one,but that is no excuse for me not to get one:hmm3grin2orange::hmm3grin2orange::hmm3grin2orange:
Lookin' nice Parris, those 200t's are worth the effort.Snotty little saws.....
I kinda felt the same way when I got my 395... But I already had a bad enough case of CAD that there was no way I could turn loose of my beloved 288....
That would be the best way to go.... I never have measured the squish on my 288's.... I'm sure I'll have to go back in and do that in order to figure how much cylinder base would have to be removed.
Lots of :chatter: Parris, we want pictures, and a video in the end, of course. Like always, going very well.
Ya check the squish, and check to see how much room is below the ex port on the piston, so to not free port if you cut the base.
You mean check how much piston skirt is still below the exhaust port when at TDC right???
I had to dumb it down a lil.... lol
Have fun, post a vid. Would like to know more about the muff mod. Tried to remove or split the muffler on mine, and broke off a bolt. didnt want to break off the other. Saw runs like nothing else. A real screamer!
Here is a vid of the last one I did.
