I stopped at my dealer today to see what's up with the saw I ordered two weeks ago. He hasn't heard anything so apparently it's not sitting in a warehouse somewhere. I don't think any dealers up this way stock the Arctics. Do I have to wait till Stihl does a production run on them to get it?

Stihl brings in a limted number of those for the warmer counties... Ask your dealer for a eta. His distribuator will know the stocking status or can find the availablity. We had one though here (WA) last week - took an extra two days.

Here we couldn't get a regular wrap. All they has was arctic wraps in 441s.

I don't think anybody in NNY wants the Arctic, except me, so naturally there's not too many in the pipeline. I don't mind a little wait, I just hope I don't have to wait for a Stihl production run of these in maybe April or so.

My dealer talked to his distributor, and he didn't have any, didn't know when any would be coming over, so today I picked up the 441 he had in stock. Nice. As everyone said, smooth. I tested it beside my trusty 61 in a gnarly old pine log just bigger than the 20'' bars I had on them. It did bog down a little about 2/3 of the way through. No biggy. I'll check it again after a few tanks of gas. And holding a saw in each hand, I couldn't tell which was heavier. I know the 441 must be, but can't be by much. I like it.

They offer only the 441W here, heated handles, but not heated carb.

...same with the 460 and 660 btw, except the 660 Logosol.

That's what I want! (I think.) But I guess we can't get them here yet. (I mean the heated handles.)

i dont really understand why wraps are so hard to get ahold of if you arent in the northwest. it seems like it would be safer to be able to drop a tree from either side without crossing a hazardous zone on any type of tree. i still cant get a wrap handle out here.

I case you don't know, it adds .2 kg to the weight, but I want it anyway on my saws.....
