Ok, then here's my take on this. I am a very number oriented person. I like stats and comparing them, but there is a point where they don't translate to the real world.

I recently got to use my 441 a 372 a 7300 and a 440 on the same day. I know mine is heavier, or so the specs say. Trouble is though, that without a scale I couldn't tell any difference between any of them weight wise. They were all also very close in usable power, dispite the ratings. I was glad I had already chosen the 441 because it feels the best to me, regardless of the specs.

Isn't that what really matters? I don't care what 100 books say, if what I like works best for me.

EXACTLY!!!!

Before you bought you're 441 I'm sure you were wise enough to research the specs and compare it to others. Then you used it and compared it physically to those other saws. That's just good, thorough research, IMO!

Timberhauler!

By the way, Timberhauler, nice thread thanks for posting your findings and opinions! Rep on the way!

My guess is that the 7300 would have a slight upper hand for power........

...but now someone are going to bash me for quoting specs again, even though I didn't.........:bang: :bang: :bang:

I won't bash you for posting specs. They are an important equation in decision making, but it seems like that is all you do and that is why they are picking on you from what I have read. Seldom do we see you post anything about real life experiences when running the saws. JMO:cheers:

If anything it felt a little torquier. Kinda like the difference between a 440 and 441.

Sawtroll wouldn't agree............only spec for him!!!

Good to see this!!!

Not, but I use them, and the DLG/KWF test reports, when I feel it is appropriate........:biggrinbounce2: :hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange:

And that would be...........all the time!!!

You are wrong, as usual........:hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange:

I got to 'em first!!!

Klotz......don't have any.......I won't run that swill/garbage in my saws!!!

OK OK send me that Poulan synthetic stuff. Never had a problem with the poulan stuff either in the trimmers or the poulan saws.

But the bet was who could get him to NEG REP first. What a Girl Troll turned out to be in a tussle. lol.

No, you are way off - I have a much broader base of info than you seem to believe - that is why I call myself "information collector"...

Ditto that. One of the first posts I made after running my 441 for the first time along with my Husky 61 was I couldn't tell which one was heavier, even though I knew the 441 was.
Also want to thank Timberhauler for a good thread. However, when I wanted a lighter limbing saw to go with the 441, I got a 346. Must be the age thing.

Only that the one under the bridge is not me, it is our old friend Rocky aka Sqwerl, aka a lot more .......:jawdrop: :jawdrop:

No, just common sence, but I use the MS361 with 15" bar and 3/8"X8 as my limbing saw, more often than not.....

Tom, How is the 346 working for you?
Love it. Unless I figure I need the bigger saw, it's the first one I grab. The heated handles have a little to do with it. I'm mostly into trail making and woods thinning, so I'm seldom into anything big. When it comes to bucking at the landing, I'll put the bigger saws to use. It seems to be more cold blooded than the 441. I have to play with the choke for a minute or two to keep it running at the first start of the day, where the 441 keeps running right off the bat. We're talking cold weather, 10*F or less. Might be time for a little carb adustment.
