This 5100 sure is exciting, isn't it?

It's a small point, I know, but dolmarusa is not doing their dealers any favors with their lack of a valid dealer locator on their website. What do they provide? They provide a 1-800 or 1-888 number. Is the number actually a dealer locator? No, it's some business about leaving your name and address if you want product information or press 2 or 3 if you need information about some recall or some such. Can I call Dallas? Yes. Will I call Dallas? No.

Some folks just don't seem to have good business sense. Just this sort of thing will actually turn the casual user off. This and such things as going to a member's website, hitting Products, and finding yourself looking at the dolmarusa website.

There are three Stihl dealers within 30 miles of me but I don't care to go to any of them so that particular fact is a wash.

That 5100 looks really good. I'm gonna' have to pout about the lack of a dealer locator for a while and then get one.

(edit to clarify non-interest in Stihl dealers for after-purchase service on a Stihl that I own; lack of local service from one guy and lack of interest in local service from the other guy makes it a wash, right?)

I just bought my PS5100S from my local dealer in Baraboo WI. Phil Harrison has been selling Dolmar for a long time out of the basement of his house. He's a great guy to talk with, and his 87 years of experience have a lot of good stories in them. He just got set up with the new distribution system. I stopped in to ask him if he had done that yet, because I wanted to order a 5100. Was I surprised to see a 5100 sitting there with an 18" bar, just what I wanted. Went home and got the cash. Was happy to pay 370. I just sold my cherry 114, and am going to sell my nice 116si to cover the rest. I'm keeping my 120si for the bigger stuff, and for the second saw out in the woods. I ran the 5100 for about 10min cutting some limb wood. This thing acts like it has a turbo when you hit the powerband, and it really likes to wind. I love it. It really feels smooth, balanced, solid, and compact.

I sell them off my back porch and a guy 40 miles away found me. And I am truly in the middle of nowhere. He said he called the distributor and I was the closest.
