You don't need to screw in you LA screw a little do you? Should be able to turn that screw in till the chain starts to move, then back till the chain is at a standstill.

Yeah I do that to the point where it seems perfectly adjusted... but perhaps I'm doing it too soon, before it's warmed up all the way.

I'm just guessing about the temp. I see no other reason for the change.
