Your right. . . I purchased a.Husky 350.as.a.customer return on the floor at Lowes. I have plenty of saws to pickup.and cut wood with....but I can.tell you that saw.cut more.trailers of wood than.any saw l have have owned. It was light and smooth and powerful and.well balanced and easy.starting and.you.never.had to.clean the air filter. I regret the.day l.sold it for.$200

If you're gonna run a 20" all the time get the 562xp

562xp/555 for 20"+

It will but its better suited for a 16"-18"

In the last 35 years, I've cut more wood with a 346xp /16" bar than any other saw.
And that was the old 45cc version. A strong 50cc is more than most folks need...
But we all know 'need' as very little to do with it.

It can, but 18" is a better match & I've cut plenty of 30" wood with a 18" bar.

I'd also just as soon buy the 545 over the 550xp. Virtually same saw less money.

I like the smaller saws and cut 10-20 cords of Oak a year. A 550/545 could work as my only saw.
I'd get a 16" & 20 bar for it myself.

In that case, I'd get a 555 with a 20" bar. That way you have a small saw w/18" bar
and a Strong 60cc saw with a 20"... Then when the Poulan craps out get a 550/545...

Or a 550xp? Probably never.

I'll never be without a hotrod lil' 50cc, but there are time a larger saw is handy...

I would run the shortest bar you can get away with .. Less weight less oil required and faster chain speed faster cutting . I use a 18" on
My 562 . I have longer bar too that I sometimes swap out for big rounds but 90% of my cutting can be done by hitting both sides
