I'm late to this thread ... what did you buy?

LOVE my 562xp with new lighter bar, but the cost of this bar will put a 562xp well over your budget.
555 would be a great way to go if you don't want to spend more. Light enough for most people to cut the small stuff and powerful enough to handle 20" plus wood with ease.

I ran a 50 cc saw exclusively for years (still have my 346xp with a 16" bar) but now that I have more power, I find it hard to go back. Noodling BIG wood makes almost anything acceptable to now throw in the back of my truck.

562xp with new bar cut almost 1/2 pound off the saw running 20" - perfect balance.

and no, I don't get a commission on these bars .... but maybe I should ask ;)

550xp all day between those 2 choices.. I owned an ms311 and I would put my 550xp up against that hog any day of the week...

Husqvarna Owns the 50-60cc market!

Husky makes some high performance pro saws, no doubt. But an Echo cs-500p and a cs-620p will give a Husky 550xp and a 562xp a run for their money. To say Husky "owns the 50-60cc market" is a bit of an exaggeration.

Relax... im sure your echos are equal performers
I would really like to run some echos but they dont seem to big around here

The only thing bad about the saw is that it eats up gas quick

I always felt my 346xp was quite economical to use and the 550xp is supposed to get even better mileage  Regardless, the time it takes to cut your wood is so much faster with a sharp chain on an XP than most homeowner saws, I think you'll find you'll use less gas for the same amount of work than a lot of the alternatives.

I mostly cut oak and I have a sharp chain idk if it's just the autotune or it just revs so high maybe that's why it eats so much gas

Wood in the truck per gallon of mix. I have no idea on the autotunes, but for firewood, mix seems cheap compared to what you get back, using any saw.

I cut wood by hand for years...petroleum products are simply an incredible "work and time multiplier" even when the fuel is expensive.
