I quoted a job this morning but the client is in a rush and the log needs to get milled up rather soon given it is in a residential area and they need it moved or cut up asap. Two questions:

Anyone know any retailers that have 72" cannon superbars in stock? Some carry 60" on hand, but I can't find any with 72, and I am on a 2 week lead time if I want the job.

I need 60-72", .375 pitch, .063 gauge for Husqvarna.

Also, it seems bars 50" and up are listed at .404. I really don't need that as I have chain in .375 I can make, so rather keep it common, and not have to bother with drive sprockets if I switch bars.

I will call madsens tomorrow, but I think baileys list 1-3 weeks (but I will call them to confirm if they have any on hand). Also leftcoastsupplies is on my call list. any others to look at would be helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Madsens may have them. If not left coast has GB bars in stock that size.

I noticed the GB bars are very parallel in their midsection, whereas the cannon superbars are convex and wider in the middle. I thought the wider mid body was to help keep the chain in the grooves. How does the GB bar perform in regards to that? Is it not a concern with their bars?

also, when they say mechanical timber processing, are they talking about mechanically controlled chainsaws? Not chainsaw mills? And if so, what about that bar makes it specific to that label?

thanks again

Fortunately I got cannon to drop ship directly from them to me (purchased via madsens). So it should arrive today/tomorrow and I plan to cut Saturday.
