Hello again, I was wanting to know how much more power do you get from porting, been cutting wood all my life and the 661 and 461 stihls I have really seem to rip. I didn't know anything about it until I joined this site and it seems to be a really big thing. How much will I really notice and what's the average cost to do a saw? It's got my attention for sure!
Seems like the price is hush, hush. All I can say is do your research and the chain is the key.

It didn't fit the narrative... Ported saws are awesome!!!

PSP's are constantly saying that a ported saw will cut like a saw 10cc's bigger. This video showed a ported 59cc saw was considerably slower than a stock 65cc saw.

You previously stated that both the 362 and 665 had new RS chains. (Second paragraph in attached screenshot)

Yes. Same brand/Different chains. NOT the same exact chain (Even off the loop varies greatly ). Apparently you have never inspected new chain before. Lots of variables in RS from day to day operations (wheels, operator, etc).
In Oct, it was the Same exact chain. 665 lost.

And my 77 cc 460 out ran a stock 661 and tied with a ported 661 in Iowa. It's been proven numerous times. That's more than a 10 cc difference.

Mike, dont you think the horse is dead already ?
Its still being beaten and kicked ? .......................... :dumb2:

Variables Mike ............ variables !

And as for the horse he is kicking? He can't stop.. Ever see the kid licking the window on the short bus? He can't stop either. Same thing...

I know this is not the point of your post.... (I got what you were saying & why) But I wonder how it would have ended up if my 661 was tuneable to say 15k.... makes me wonder if it wood have changed anything?

LOL about the window licking.... :)

The OP asked about ported saw gains. And since this a forum intended to promote the free exchange of ideas I gave my oppinion. I'm sorry you don't feel the same way.

Your video showed quite well that ported saws aren't always what people claim they are around here... It's a shame you've chosen to make it private. I didn't realize that your ported saws were such delicate sunflowers that were so dependent on chains. Though since both saws were running new Stihl RS chains in the video your excuse comes off as rather pathetic.

As the parent of a special needs child I find your attempt at humor weak and despicable.
