I'm way confused. I missed way too much in this thread to know what all happened.

Mike,
I think Mike said something to make Mike mad who then mistook Mikes comments for Mikes.
IMO there are just too many Mikes....(except for you :) )
All the other Mikes will heretofore be known as "Bill". To avoid any confusion of course.
Sorry for the confusion.

:)

In general...
100 80 120
higher number, physically lower roof more torque, kinda, sometimes.
.020 squish
65% dia port width (if not limited by skirts)
.025 off key ign timing
square intake bottom
if raising comp/ cutting base, mark skirt through exhaust hole for how much room you got before freeport, although its not the end of the world if you freeport because you need to digging for decent exhaust timing. That should keep you busy for a little while.

cost, would be 275 to 325$.

Worth every penny.
Absolutely agreed! On all of it! Good quote on price and definitely worth every penny.

I've been running Stihl's 90cc Class power heads for 25+ years. My Bull Buck let me run his Pro Modified 660 I couldn't believe the power difference vs stock! I'd have to say a 25% maybe 30% power gain and that's no s**t!!! I ordered a MS661 the next day as soon as it arrived at the post office I immediately reshipped it to a pro modifier for a port job. I think he did some other things too besides just porting it but I'm not sure. I am sure however, that I couldn't be happier! My pro modifed stock 661 frick'n ripps some a**!!! I run AV gas and MOTOREX cross power 2T fully synthetic mix. It's Spendy but we'll worth it. I asked the modifier if he recommended AV gas or not. He said yes no problem and that he's been running AV gas in his ported saws for years! No noticable power gains from running the 100 octane fuel and just as I expected, but definitely better for your power head because it burns slower and cooler than pump gas. I also use TK 7 Additives. I haven't found a 90cc saw that can match my PMS MS661 yet!

In summary, I highly recommend you have your saw ported! You will not regret it and fall in love with the saws new refit! That I promise you! 👍 Have it done by a professional that knows exactly how to properly modify a saw. A lot of guys out there think they can but really can't! I can give you contact info for a Pro Modifier if you'd like!

IMG_20220520_104627440_HDR.jpgMy Pro Modified Stock MS 661 is the big buck of this lick! 💪 Any of you think you have a saw in the 90cc class that can match her?👍 Your welcome to come wet your horns!

Most likely true, but you should consider the opposite might be true also.
Just because "you" didn't believe in yourself, you should not take the encouragement away others as well.
I didn't mean you or anyone else in particular. I'm just stating my opinion buddy and everyone has one! My confidence is in my cutting abilities not my advanced power saw mechanics. I have plenty of fellow cutters that are much more well rounded at that then me. My advice, info, and opinions are strictly my own and can be taken or left behind. Dosent matter to me either way! At the end of the day. I'll sleep just fine.

That's some good advice's too, no doubt about it. You are a cutter, I'm a builder.
You want a tool that just works, I just wants to make it work. A combustion engine is a miracle, that's how I see it.

Right lol I don't think I will do it I was just wondering what all the fuss is about. And I like to have the baddest saw around. Haha. I don't think I would justify the money for speed. A good chain is always key
a properly tuned chain is always the key component when it comes to a power saws performance. That being said. Stock saw with properly tuned chain vs the same saw modified with a properly tuned chain? The writing is on the wall in my humble opinion! 25% to 30% more power + tuned chain = faster cutting and more production! 👍
