Bobby13 was looking through my list of saws and said, "You're missing an old Mac from your collection.". Not any more! Bobby boxed up and sent me an old 10-10A with RH start. I got it today. It's a complete saw and runs great. Hot compression was only 122 PSI, but I have no idea what these are supposed to have. It starts very easily, idles great after some carb adjusting, and revs out nicely. It is missing a few parts. The throttle safety and lock are both missing. The kill swith isn't hooked up to anything. Also, the air filter needs replaced since some of the flocking is gone. The muffler's pretty beat up too. The bar's also in pretty bad shape. I haven't done much to it besides wipe it with a cloth and seal the oil reservoir cover back on.

There's a serial number on the bottom of the case, 27646. Any idea when it was made? It was bought new from Hillcrest Farm Supply in Galax, Va. by Dale Liddle. Maybe Bobby also knows what year he bought it. I'll have to find out.

Thanks Bobby for another neat old classic!

I have a 10-10S as well. There is a reason that there are alot of really ratty looking 10 series MAC's out there. THEY NEVER DIE! Put a chain on it and have some fun! Might be a bit much bar for that saw.....

Great, another MAC convert. One LESS chance I'll ever get an SP125.

Not only do you saw pics look good so does your brick wall and yard. Great lookingsaw I cant wait to see what you do to it.:yourock:

Thanks for the kind words. It's probably destined for the dishwasher like all the rest of my saws:hmm3grin2orange:. That way I get a good look at everything and know what kind of condition it's in. I would like to find the missing parts but don't want to put too much in it.

Brad. That is a casting number that you showed. The Serial # is located inside under the Air Filter, behind the Carburetor, but I can see that the Serial Plate is Missing.
By the looks of it, that is not the Original Handle, and Gas Tank Bottom Half on your Saw either. I have 2 Mac 10-10 Automatics, one a 68 Model, and a Later Model. and Neither of them have the Throttle Safety Lock.
These Saws where made form Dec 1967, to 1970.
I might have one of those Throttle Safety Locks here, you can have. Just refund me the Shipping, that is if I have one. I'll have a look tomorrow for you.
If I don't have one, I'm going to be going to a Small Engine Repair Shop, to see if he has any old McCulloch Parts Saws there, and I can get one off of that, and send it to you then. Bruce.

Thanks for the offer as well as the info Bruce. Does yours have a throttle lock? I'm missing that as well. Keep your eyes open for a good air filter as well.
Brad.
I saw one last night on e Bay, for under $4.00. + shipping of coarse.
Are you talking about the piece that goes in the center of the handle, too lock the trigger out, so it can't be pressed in or the lock to hold the trigger in, while cutting? It is a push Button, with a Spring to push it out when the Throttle Trigger is pressed in. If so, I have one of those. that holds the Throttle trigger in, that you can have as well, if I can find it. I'll look tomorrow, and see for you. My 10-10 Automatic that was built after 1970 has it. Bruce.

Brad.
From what I could tell from your pictures, the Muffler looks Ok. Is there a hole some where? Bruce.

I need both parts Bruce. I saw the screw in throttle locks on eBay but don't see where it would screw into my handle.
