I'll take them both. I'll send you a PM with my PayPal addy so that you can send me an invoice or however you want to handle it. Thanks Calvin.

Is there a bushing or bearing that goes on the shaft of the recoil housing which the spool then slides over? My spool is real sloppy on the shaft. Also, there's no type of retention device. It works fine but is really noisy. Sure wish I had an IPL for this thing:bang:

Surefire may be rounding up the throttle safety interlock parts with pins and spring as well as a bar, but I have not confirmed he has those yet.

he has to get surgery on the 10 th of september they have to remove part of the lung cause they found out 80% of the tumor is cancer so i am trying not to worry as long as i keep busy boxing parts shipping parts i can at least be doing something to keep me from breaking down in front of everyone

cause today coming home from the post office and ups station i broke down almost while driving so but anyway i took and looked at the package of this part the stop wire part that is 62973 is what i can make out on the imprint on the plastic see way back in the 70s 80s here in NC there was a place in shelby nc called porter brothers inc .

they were a mac distributor that is all they carried was mac parts

well guess what i have tons of them porter brothers bags in my shop that i cannot even identify the part cause no part # no longer on the package

so who knows i may have a part someone needs and not know it so what im thinking of doing is asking you all mac guys to help identify some of the parts by a picture who knows i may be able to at least get a part # but anyhow i think this wire is the exact part you need cause of the 62973 on the package

only way to find out is hook it up and see

Surefire's got me taken care of on the throttle interlock pieces and maybe a bar. Tonight I'll get it all cleaned up and start reassembling it.

Anyone know what color yellow's a good match? I think I'll stop by tractor supply and take a look.

Hi Brad.
If your interested, I have here a Complete Handle and Bottom Gas Tank Assembly for a Mac 10-10 Automatic. It has the Stop Wire to shut off the saw, Oiler Button with Push Rod, Choke Button, and Linkage, and the Throttle Linkage, all attached.
The Handel does not have the slot in it for the Safety Catch to lock out the Throttle Trigger, like yours. If you would like to trade Assemblies, to make your Chain Saw look Original, I'd be more than happy to trade Assemblies with you.
All you would have to do is remove all the parts for your Carburetor, top and bottom, except for the Linkages, the Top of your Gas Tank, the Plastic Piece that is under your Rear Handle, and send it to me, and I'll send you mine. Bruce.

I'd be more than happy to do that. I've got the missing parts coming from
Surefire. Can someone confirm that my saw indeed should not have the throttle interlock? Bobby13 do you know if the tank handle was replaced? We think this is a 1969 model if that helps. I guess the receipt will nail it down.

Just cut your gaskets out of a cardboard 12/24 pack. It works great on my Stihl base gaskets since it's about .019" thick. I'll either coat it with grease or Threebond HT before assembly, depending on the application.

Handle was changed!

Saw was bought in 1/17/69. It must be a 68 saw. Dale said he bought a used handle at Hillcrest due to breaking the original. Swap with the man Brad. So I guess you do want the paper work. Sorry, Brad, I'm just jerking you around.

What do you know. I was born in '68:clap:

So Bruce, do you want me to wait until I get the missing parts from Surefire? I'll PM you my address.

Edit: You've got PMs blocked. PM me your email addy.
