If I had to ship something later than planned or later than originally promised (the listing says "Monday or Tuesday"), I would have sent by a faster shipping service to make up the difference. Priority Mail, or at least a service with decent tracking such as UPS or FedEx Ground would have been appreciated as good "customer service". I've done that - sent a motorcycle helmet by Express Mail, because I forgot to send it the day before by Priority Mail.

Listing: "Standard Flat rate Shipping Service" for $25 - the actual shipping cost Parcel Post was $17. I bet Priority Mail would have been right around or less than $25 and it would have taken about a week off the waiting time. I know what its like to have a sick dad in the hospital, it's not fun. But why try to make a profit on the shipping if the package is going out late? The customer (or buyer) cares primarily about when the item is received, and that the quality is as expected. What happens with logistics in-between is unimportant.

So what was the issue with the tank? I might have a spare or two.

It's got a creased dent (more than a "ding") on the bottom left side. It looks like it was dropped from a bucket lift or was used as a sword to fight off zombies. There is no apparent leak, but after I put the saw in a box with some mix in the tank and white paper underneath, there is now a drop of blue oil on the paper, so it does appear to be oozing.

YA, but its not rocket science.

hold the saw by the cord, if it goes sluf..sluf...sluf..sluf, it is abit LOW.

Hold it by the cord & it does sluf..............................sluf...........................sluf...................sluf........................sluf compression is a okay, testers are not really all that important.

I dunno why i used "sluf"...

It does go "sluf sluf" with just the powerhead as weight.

How can we help get the saw right, and end this drama once and for all? I don't really care if you two hate each other or not, but I do not like to hear about a sick 262.

Ya' bought a saw off of fleabay that clearly stated "AS IS".
Should've asked questions and for more pictures.
Too late to pick it apart now.
$25 flat is just that,If he makes a few bucks so what?
You bid knowing it.
Now you want to complain?

It's an auction for crying out loud.

Amen. So lets hear what is wrong and needs replaced. We have enough guys on here running 262s to probably build a couple hundred just out of spare parts. Tells us what you need and well go check our stashes. I don't have much in spares but I'll gladly go look in the 262 parts box to see if I have what is needed.

When I have shipped saws, I set a shipping fee. I mention which services I will use and that this fee covers my shipping cost, labor(I pack with newspaper--LOTS of it), and supplies(lots of tape, too). My fee is always higher than what the shipping will be to cover the cost of everything else. Since I disclose it in the auction, the buyer knows this and should not bid if they do not like it.

I have sold about a dozen saws on eBay with no trouble(from buyers anyway). I take LOTS of pictures and list every flaw. Not really a "make money" kind of deal anymore since the fees are up there. I am looking at selling my next one on the trading post. The difference in price will be made up for by the savings in fees.

LOL @ sluf sluf

That is what it sounds like! Please explain your compression
gauge to the guy asking about buying one in the other thread.

I have a good feeling somebody alerted woodchuckbiker of my post and had him join this site...lol. Thats cool too.

I bought 2.. no wait now 3 saws from ebay... yeah... its a risk... the 441 I got came packaged like it was handled by the package handlers that were too rough for UPS ( It came parcel post) ... the saw was rough looking to start with... but its a runner... ( it will cut wow) it needs a couple of things like a new brake handle( chunk missing) and maybe a air filter cover... cracked... I can live with the cracked AF cover... but I am going to replace the brake handle when I find one... ( or find a 441 parts saw) ... lesson... ask ask ask.. if in doubt.. don't bid.:deadhorse:

If you are careful, eBay is a good source for saws.

Good deals too. That being said, I haven't done much selling there.
