But pulling up a picture of there "Full Chisel" , there is a picture of Carlton's round filed chisel, Carlton dose not make a Full chisel, the way I understand it.
Rapidfarrier, You misunderstand the terminology. Round ground or squareground chisel is chisel.... but it gets called "full chisel" to differentiate it from "semi-chisel" which is also called "chamfer chisel" and "Micro-chisel" which all have a secondary angle across the working corner. "chipper" chain has all but disappeared-it had a rounded sideplate transition into the top-plate. The "Semi-chisel profile cuts more efficeintly than the old chipper but retains some of the ruggedness, ease of sharpening and resistance to dulling compared to the relatively fragile working corner of chisel chain. Square grinding a chisel tooth ups efficiency a few percentage points over standard round grinding but the CUTTER is the same-only the sharpening technique changes.Either grind is still "Full chisel".
