Ben, Have you tried replacing the oil line? Maybe the new line has a tighter fit against the pump. You really have a way of fixating on things. Have you sought therapy?

Many of my contacts at the factory like me are on vacation during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

Not bad at all. It looks pretty good. could use some porting I'm sure, but not bad. Now is the clutch inboard or outboard on this model? it looks like its an inboard but I'm not totally sure.

Yes, I already tried that approach, Sedan.
You might be "fixated" also if you went through the crap I have with this saw. Is it too much to ask for the oiler to work right for longer than a month?

Hey Ben, have Sedanman send ya some of that famous rib grease of his. That should plug up your oil leak. LOL LJS

Ben,

I am curious why Dolmar Tech has not resolved your problems with the oiler on your saw. I am sure he has read the many post regarding the ongoing problems. Its a No-Brainer for public relations and being a "Dolmar Tech" the guy should be able to get any and all parts no charge.

To answer your question. No its not too much to ask for the oiler to work for more than a month. As a matter of fact. I just fixed an old Poulan WildThing that was run to death and the oiler had failed. I emailed Poulan to explain my problem and they sent me a new oiler. I know the saw was a POS and it was run without oil til the nylon gear assembly siezed, but out of GOODWILL they sent a NEW part.

Good Luck Brother

If you can make it to my aria, I would like to run that saw. We can make some videos of that saw with a few others in the same wood.
Better yet, just send me that saw. I promise that I wont look inside and that I will have it back together before I ship it back to you. LOL
It was nice meeting you and I hope that we can get together again in the future.
Contrary to everything that Jeff said about you, I still liked you. LOL

Yeah, a video of dozerdan running a saw should really help Dolmar sales!

Did I say that I was going to run the saw? I was just going to use the camera and give the videos to Dolmar Tech. I thought that it would look better for Dolmar if he ran the saws.
I probable have done more for Dolmar sale on this forum than anyone has. At least they are starting to get the recognition that they deserve.
Thanks
Dan

Number 1 all Dolmar saws carry a 1 year warrant and all manufactures defects are covered in that one year warranty period. I dont ever want to take business from our servicing dealer network and I cant fix the saw from here as I dont even know what the problem is. Ben is asking us, Dolmar, to redesign the saw oiler and I dont work at the factory nor am i in charge of redesiging the components. As I have said I have sent the information to the factory and due to the holidays there has not been any report back. I surely hope you guys dont think that these changes happen overnight but are in fact checked and the best possible solution is developed. One thing regarding a design change to the oil pump is the very minimal amount of complaints compared to the total number of saws sold in the family range for this saw. We as all manufactures look at a total number of failures compared to the saws and there is a time frame that the number of complaints contribute to the design change and if the problem is a safety problem etc. This situation is minor reported problem and I feel it is a nuisance problem and want to make the change and I have asked the factory to make a change and when i hear more i will report.

Sorry, Dan cant send the saw out without someone around from the company cause of product liability insurance.
