mitchell you need a caritool. 6bucks and the thing wont be sliding around on your belt.

Its one of those things I am always going to order but never seem to get around to it. the goofy little hook seems to work pretty well mind you.

I have a chainsaw bungee and like it, but it is too short sometimes.
The caritool works wonderful for me... well spent money.
The setup I use is with the Chainsaw on left, handsaw on right and I am right handed.

Do you like the friction hitch setup??? And why are the tails of it so long??

I would think that if the biner was closer to the knot there would be less fallback

when the climbing line is being advanced?

i cant answer for WLL but that knot gets advanced by the minipulley on that biner a couple inches below the prussic in that pic.

i dont run a prussic yet but will once i get around to it. i still like my blakes although the prussic is starting to get awfully appealing. michoan/martin will be the knot too.

and the tails that you are talking about are on his bridge right? from the petzl swivel on up is his climbing set up.

I use almost the same setup, but, the micro and biner are like half inch below the knot

oh ok..i was wondering what you were up too. lol

maybe WLL has a longer prussic that the one you are running. gonna have to find out whe he signs on in again. he'll fill us in on how he do.

the way it was explained to me was that is was more or less a blakes on a prussic.

except

make your 4 turn and then go under 1 turn and not the standard 2 of the blakes.

and for my size it was i was also told to go like 5 or 6 wraps instead of the 4.

i dont run it nor the prussic so i could be off. use the AS search function for the michoan ( i might even be butchering the spelling) or martin. the guy who invented this knot doesnt want the notoriety for coming up with the knot so he named it after his hometown or something.

its been talked about a bit on this site.

This is my set up with top and back handle saw, its a black diamond ice clipper which the ms200 fits in perfectly, it can clip in and out with one hand and it doest get bumped off. Its fast and easy to use.
Set up like this its out of the way for moving around and the saw doesnt bump around or get caught as much as it would hanging down from my harness. Its a really good system, I have tried all sorts but this is by far the best I have found.

Bad news is that this is the old ice clipper, the new ones dont work. This clip is 4 years old and is getting a little tired. Its also great for holding loppers, secatuers, rigging gear, bull lines etc.

i do like this setup. this set up works very well but it does have its drawbacks, i use it for most jobs but on some ill use the other end with a blakes. i dont use it in sappy stuff, i use all kinds of stuff. i like the tails long on the bridge so i can get my hand in if i need to snug er up. i like the ends long after the knot because its more easy to tie, i will cut them a little shorter after the knot sets if they r in the way

What I use and like

A little closer. I love the plastic biner!

My friction hitch, see the short legs of the knot? I wonder if there is a functional difference between short or long legs? (the knot of coarse)

update on the squats

WLL your saw setup is hurtn! lol

Mitchell you need more ass if your belt is sliding past it! lol. squats man!

the pic is kinda self explanatory. pull it back through the steel and tuck it in behind the webbing. cinch up with the rubber thing. its helped.

I've been squating so much olddirty, I can't get my belt over my ass now; you just can't win! haha, just noticed the post

Caritool and BII is the way to go..

I have been using this setup for a year now.. Been pretty good so far, I keep my 200t on the right side. I started hanging my Zubat on the left works out very nice.

It is possible to get the caritool to shift if it has a good tug on it though.. I see olddirty uses this set up as well

its oldirty.

but if you slide that caritool back a couple inches to wear the webbing is stiched and fit it behind it stays put unless under alot of strain.
