Was he by any chance from California? I've sold hundreds of saws on ebay, but the only ******** I have dealt with were ALL from Ca.

I dont agree with the packing or the dragging of feet shipping. But chit does happen sometimes in life.

You bid on a parts saw and looks like your received a parts saw you bid to much on probably. Sounds more like buyers remorse to me.

When you buy a saw on eBay, it should arrive in the same condition as it was when you bid on it. Period. Sounds like he bought a saw and it arrived in worse condition than the pictures and description showed it to be, and it seems to be due to the poor packaging. I'd be a little pissed off, too.

That's interesting, I've had the opposite experience. I've done a good mix of selling and buying on ebay. Probably around a thousand parts and a couple dozen of saws and the only ******** I've dealt with were east of the Mississippi. With one very slight exception out of Arkansas.

there might be a little of that but there is no excuse for the saw to get beat up in transit. Even a parts saw should be delivered in the same condition as it was in when the picture was taken. If it starts out with nice plastic and you get something that is all gouged up from having the end of the loose handle bar trying to eat its way thru the recoil housing, that is just not right.

I agree. What sucks is that the term "for parts or repair" is the best way to screw someone over on eBay. From my experience in the eyes of eBay it forgives the seller from all quality-related sins. I bought a saw once to fix & flip. It was a 391 that got dropped out of a bucket minutes from it's first use. Broke a bunch of stuff, but what wasn't broken was in immaculate condition. Seller chucked it in a box just like the OP showed and when I received it the bar, chain, and other sharp parts completed chewed up everything else in the box. Not to mention parts were protruding from the box & my postal carrier wasn't happy.

I opened a case due to the bad/unsafe packaging and the additional damage resulting in shipping (not due to carrier, but insufficient/nonexistent packing) and eBay sided with him since he had "clearly" listed it as a parts saw. Yeah eBay!

My buying and selling via eBay was reduced drastically after that.

There was only 3 385 parts saws sold on the 8th. All from Connecticut. This dont mean this is OP seller or saw.

This is listed in all 3 below. Please check my other auctions. Please ask all questions before bidding. All sales final. Paypal only. No returns. Payment due within 24 hours of auctions ending. Of course sold in as is condition with no warrantee or returns at all.

Buy a parts saw and it turns into more parts along the way. Now you can double your money!!! :buttkick:

You must have made an impact on him. I just purchased a 372 parts saw from him and it came on time and packaged well. Saw was better than described, like new cylinder and piston and turned out nice. I believe he lists too many saws at once and looses track of his selling. But that is no excuse for how you received your 385. He should have resolved his failure and made it right with you!

No, I already have a jug I bought on AS trading post. The thread is still there, I ordered and paid for the specialized pto side bearing and seal and a gasket set from my Husqvarna dealer. $60-Non refundable. I can post the receipt if you like. I also bought a 385 meteor piston on ebay as weedeaterman was out and I can post that.

When I opened the ebay case because the saw was late I was given the option to refuse the shipment and I declined.

As I stated earlier I hate liars. I will take a financial hit to jack with this dude.

I have been on this site for almost 10 years and have never been accused of trying to shirk, WTH has happened to this site, now certain individuals always beat the OP down with no proof......

If I send the 385 back it's gonna cost me $125. If I don't have to pay return shipping.

Do you really think we should not talk about issues like this clown of an ebay seller? It affects many of us

I bought a parts saw here. I received the saw from a MEMBER here with no packing and it ended up with broken crankcase. Yep it pizzed me off. But that is between me and seller.

I still say just a case of buyers remorse.
I realise I put myself in this position by pre-buying parts for this saw, before I had the case.

The reason I did that is because I have a farm in Boulder County that was devastated in the flood last September.

I need a big saw to clear huge uprooted Cottonwoods. And I need it Quick.

If you want proof of that go look at my 266xpg thread.

2 Lakes were taken by Boulder Creek. I paid $6,000 last week to begin to restock feeder fish. A half mile of fencing was lost. 900+ loads of fill were brought in, luckily I got that for free. A contractor delivered it from a foundation that was being dug for a new power plant at University of Colorado.

Acres of trees were bent, broken and compressed. A sewer main was ruptured, my roads were scoured, my bench range was taken, 30 Crawdad type fishing boats were swept downstream, bent, broken and filled with sewage. I never whined.

Dude, this ain't my first rodeo. 30 years of work is gone. And I ain't whining. I'm just pissed that I got abused by an idiot in a small engine shop in Connecticut because he had a new Iphone app.

JJ, a scenario & a question for you.

You see a parts saw on eBay that has some good parts that you really need in order to finish a project saw that you really want/need to complete. You buy the saw. The seller does a pizzpoor packing job, and several of the parts that you need get broken because of the lousy packing. Do you take an "Oh well, no harm, it's a parts saw" attitude, or get pizzed off because the seller's lousy packing caused the parts that you really need to get broken in transit?
